https://soundcloud.com/sacredbones/blanck-mass-dead-format Out in May. Sounds like he's straying more from the Fuck Buttons/noise stuff. This sounds more interesting than his first solo album which was more ambient if I remember rightly. Makes sense going on from the last FB album. Top stuff.

Another great alias from Legowelt's label. I like the chilled tracks the most, wish the whole thing was one big John Carpenter soundtrack. (Strange Life Records SLR037) Spiritual Foundation by The Psychic Stewardess

David Orphan of Folklore Tapes collaborates on a new 10" vinyl release based on insect samples, similar to what Mira Calix did about a decade ago, but with more rhythm and melody here. Edition of 250 in plastic bag. Recommended. http://www.hoodfaire.co.uk/product/sounds-of-insects-racker-orphan

To Be Kind was already one of my favourite releases this year but it's not over : Swans are fucking remastering their 1983 debut album Filth, which I couldn't describe better than its own title does. Sadly for me it's a vinyl reissue, but maybe they'll make a digital edition too... I guess... Pls... Anyway it's coming on oct. 28th. Some words for Mr. Gira himself about this ballsy record : “This is all slabs of sound, rhythm and screaming/testifying. What more do you need? In a way, it was a reaction against Punk (and just about any other music you can think of), and the conservative notion that 3 chords were somehow necessary. I used to deny it vehemently at the t…

http://m.pitchfork.com/news/55917-david-bowie-says-new-music-coming-soon/ Please please please Dyy viddd.. Make something conceptual, fun, weird, dark, electronic, danceable, and/or interesting! Heathen and Reality were stellar fucking albums but A New Day was just really sad from the few tracks Ive heard... I had to stop listening, it just made me too depressed. The album sounded like someone on their deathbed reminiscing. You're only 68, I know you still have plenty of edge and spunk.. I think its time to take it a bit out of the introspective gloomy realm youve been in musically, recently (since 1999's Hours) and make something cool... Thank you my idol/role model/…

After almost ten years of silence South African musician Felix Laband is back with his new album Deaf Safari. His previous albums are some of the clearest music I've ever heard, so nicely produced. using a lot of field recordings like dripping water in a basement, a sink flushing, a pencil writing on paper. With Deaf Safari he focusses a bit more on vocals and sampling and is more influenced by the Kwaito house scene, while stil maintaining his singnature sound. I've been waiting a couple of years for this album so I'm pretty excited about this one Deaf Safari is out on the 29th of May on Copost records as Vinyl CD or download. You can listen to some previews on his sou…

Death Waltz releases another original album, and a great one it is. This is the soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exist approach, very Carpenter-esque (what isn't these days?) looking forward to more original material from DW, including another Pye Corner Audio, and a Blanck Mass release on the 2015 horizon. https://boomkat.com/cds/1286889-umberto-maiovvi-law-unit

Canadian duo Megan James and Corin Roddick - aka Purity Ring - will return with a second album entitled 'Another Eternity’ on March 3rd. Their 2012 breakthrough debut ‘Shrines’ was in many ways a prescient suggestion of indie and popular music to come. The album earned the #1 spot on iTunes electronic chart, Pitchfork “Best New Music” laurels and praise from New York Times, Rolling Stone, NPR and more. While ‘Shrines' was composed remotely between Halifax and Montreal, 'Another Eternity' marks the first time Megan and Corin were able to create a record in the same room. The pair ventured home to the frozen industrial landscapes of their birthplace Edmonton, Alberta …

This is another release from Audika records trawling of Russell's archives, mostly comprised of previously released stuff, but the mixes are very different, some of the tracks are a bit rough, but certainly enough on here to warrant a proper release. It's all the experimental noisy/cello end of his output, nothing like on Love Is Overtaking Me. Just listened once so far, but sounds good, new version of This Is How We Walk On The Moon is particularly good. http://www.npr.org/2015/05/31/409801534/first-listen-arthur-russell-corn
