Has the identity of Jacobean ever been revealed? Read on the internets the ineveitable speculation that it could be BoC, but to me that track sounds more like Posthuman. Maybe I'm just not googling hard enough.

Your favourite Damon Albarn album 1 2

I used to be a huge Gorillaz fan around the time of Demon Days, and from there I investigated Blur and the like, But I think The Good, The Bad and The Queen maybe my favourite album of his I've heard. You'll probably disagree, but the production is astounding, and the textures are wonderful. Its one of the few albums I like to sing along with, and I think Albarn's midlife melancholy meant he was at his songwriting peak. Its like he took some of the ideas from Demon Days and created a more stylistically focused album. That's my opinion anyway. What's your's?

Just watched this, seems like a strange hip-hop video directed by David Lynch from an alternate universe. I don't know why, but I find it oddly engaging and hard to stop watching. The Big Daddy Kane-esque hip hop dancer guys that come in later just seal the deal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9_A7aoYqGA

I've haven't been too excited at the lineup so far and there seems to be a lacking of a warp/mu/rephlex type of event that we've had almost every year so what would your fantasy lineup be? rules are one support, one main headline plus three DJ's max for each of the two room's and try to be realistic i.e. Snares after Aphex ain't ever going to happen mine would be small room Rephlex/Mu DJ Rephlex (grant) Global Goon support DMX Krew - DJ Ceephax - main Luke Vibert - DJ main room Rob Hall - DJ Autechre - main Surgeon - DJ LFO - support 808 state - DJ

GHOST is a metal band from Sweden and the sound is like an unholy mixture of Mercyful Fate, Blue Oyster Cult, Pentagram and other bands of the same vein from the early 70’s before metal was about being an emasculated pussy in corpse-paint, before metal became as trite as ICP. This is real Satan-worshipping metal. The vocals are atypical as they’re not angry at all, and this is where I draw the Blue Oyster Cult comparison from. The lyrics are very Satanist and at times evoke fits of laughter from me at how completely ridiculous they are. According to rumours, GHOST is a supergroup featuring members from huge European black/death metal acts. They are an outright self-profes…

phil spector

not sure if this will garner much of a response, but ive sort of been developing more of an interest in phil spector as of late, and i guess maverick 60s producers in general.. i knew about reports of his extreme megalomania, and of course theres the prison term hes currently serving for murder, but after watching this bbc doc i was really shocked at the extent of his madness. im not surprised at the situation he currently finds himself in. i mean, i dont doubt for a second he actually killed that woman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93XogOjc3t4 but man i love his production work from the early 60s, as well as the stuff he did with john lennon. i even dig the ill…

How do you tag your mixes?
by Guest abracadabra- 15 replies

So I recently acquired a bunch of mixes from the Fabric series and have found trouble tagging the mp3s. For example, say the mix is by Martyn. Is it proper to tag the artist name as "Martyn" and have each track title be "(Artist name) - (Song Title)"? Or should each artist name be the actual artist of the track and the album name just be "Fabric 50: Martyn" or something like that? I'm also seeking a way that this becomes compatible with Last.fm, but I guess it doesn't matter that much. How do you all do it?

from myspace: Last week i resigned from BBC Radio1, after an amazing multi-dimensional 14 year career. The great freedoms the BBC have given me as a broadcaster, have allowed me to help break so many confrontational artists as diverse as Slipknot and Skream, and of course, the whole genre of Dubstep in recent times. My current Experimental show is in peak condition, it’s never been stronger. And although it’s a very emotional decision to leave the show that I love so much, it’s also an optimum moment to bow out, at the very top of my game. My work for Radio1 on the Breezeblock, Rock Show, many fascinating documentaries about everything from David Bowie to …

So we can all talk shite about how great he is. I saw him live at some festival a few years back but the only song I had ever heard was bongo bong. Anyway I was completely blown away by his live performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f34UXq9i2k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko_cJIeEUAA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JsyMamIuss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TamvrMZl4g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJMLJVha5sw Sorry for the terrible accompanying videos for some of them.

I made this video in 2005 and back when i uploaded it youtube's video quality was much worse. I sat on a full quality version for years and only yesterday did i get off my ass and put it back up on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_RAtk0yh1w&feature=player_embedded#! it was inspired by the Coldcut video 'natural rhythm' which used all footage from david attenborough nature documentaries spliced up to match the beats of an electronic song. This concept was slightly different in that i used only sounds that were recorded in conjunction with the video footage. Nothing here was overdubbed, the sounds all emanate from each video clip you are seeing.

The original full length tape only release (not the abridged version that was given away free on the cover of Wax magazine in '96). Does anyone know if a digital copy of this was made available? If not does anyone still have the original?
