http://www.synthesizers.com/system-entry1.html So it won't be until month 5 that I have an Oscillator and I'm already salivating for it (I can at least run that Osc through my Micro-Modular and use its filters and envelopes until I get the rest of the kit). I'm so fucking psyched for this is unbeleivable. Im already trying to pick out stain that will match my desk to stain the case in. It's hillarious, because I PMd version2006 the other day asking him if he ever got a modular system, and which one he ended up going with since I was going to be doing this at some point this year. Pro Tools Users

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out an easy way to export an audio region as a loop so that I may load it up into another program. I know I could always open up the source audio file in another program such as audacity and chop off the dead air before I load it into to my loop program, but that seems like too much work for what should be such a simple task. So please, would someone please suggest a simple way that I can export an audio region from Pro Tools so that I may be able to load it into another program? Thanks in advance. By the way, I'm currently running on the newest version of Pro Tools LE.

"With Quicktime video support, Live enters the world of post-production. Drag and drop movies directly into Live's Arrangement View, and monitor the result on a video window or second screen. Then, align music to visuals, and process the movie's audio signal within Live. It has never been easier to improvise, compose and warp music to picture" anyone here use ableton for video soundtacks ? was wondering whatcha' all thought about the new update

New to Hardware Synths
by Guest TI-86- 8 replies

I've been using VST-Synths and software for the past few years, and I'm starting to get interested in hardware synths. Where do you think I should start? I'd be really interested in finding some hardware that isn’t hard to learn at first, and also has good sound quality. I'm also worried about the price. What kinds of prices am I going to be spending for a slandered "rack" synth? I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

Hi, just aquiring a copy of this - looks pretty damn good! I love all the Arturia soft synths I've ever used and appreciate them for their superior sound quality and functions over the other soft synths out there. Just wondering if this Storm thing is any good really....looks a bit like a cross between Reason and FLoops, whic IMO would be really good.

i recently splurged sold my car for a 4 rack high modular synth consisting of mostly eurorack modules and one frac-rack set of modules. So far the only idea i can come up with to turn what i have into a polyphonic system is to get 2 midi interfaces, and use each one to control 2 different sets of VCos, vcas, and vcfs. This only makes it duophonic, am i naive in thinking that there is some sort of polyphonic VCO for modern modular synths? and for those who just want wang activation look here -

if im basically a noob with a primitive drum machine and a 101, is it actually even worth splashing out an extra 100 or so quid to get a proper hardware sequencer in the long run?

That's Curtis as in "This synth sounds cool because it has Curtis chips in it". By putting analogue oscillators and filters on chips, he made polyphonic synths affordable to the masses. I currently have intakt, and am considering getting the crossgrade to kontakt, as intakt has been discontinued. i make ambient, and currently have Reason, FL studio, an Alesis Micron, Intakt, CS80V, and FM-7 (upgrading this to FM8). two questions, is kontakt any good for ambient or would i be better off getting another synth (like the arturia arp2600) and my current laptop is an AMD2800+ with 512 megs of Ram (although i plan on upgrading this year) is that too slow or to little ram for kontakt?

occasional audio clicks
by Guest Adjective- 0 replies

at first i thought the latest Renoise Rc was bugged or something because occasionally(every... 30-50th key press) while entering notes, there's a harsh click from my sound card. but it happens when typing in any application, sort of randomly but only when typing this is a typey typey keyboard, not the notey kind. ps/2 connector does anyone know what would cause this?

So here's the deal: The soundcard on this PC crapped out. It's a mediocre laptop that has enough processing power for me to do the things I need to do, but the Line In & Mic In jacks on the soundcard have this wierd problem. Everything comes in at a very VERY quiet level , so quiet that when I amplify the sound it has a noticable level of fuzz on it. It just started doing that one day (so I know something went wrong, it wasn't always like that). The audio out jack sounds perfectly fine though. I don't really use the line in for any instruments. My guitarist records on a different computer. I only really use it for the microphone, to record vocals or random hom…

Aphex Twin Aphex twin's studio

About a year ago, I was exploring sites such as richdjames.com, aphextwin.com etc etc.. Now, one day I went to richarddjames.com and low and behold, there was he, in (I think, his) studio working. I didn't save the picture, I fucking wish I had, but does anyone have it?.. It was this fairly small studio, cramped, with lots of stuff contained in it. Edit, I also took a look at the source code and he left a funny secret message too, I forgot that also.

Hey guys, after getting frustrated with a few unfinished projects(mostly due to frustration with mixing all of the sounds in a clean way), i'm determined to finish my two best ones...(one is a squarepusher "mashup" , that you'll love)... I'd like to resequence some of the drums but haven't found a good all in one site that has music tutorials. I'm looking for stuff along the lines of "how to program a drum and bass beat" or "how to get thick, buzzy bass". please help a brutha out!

Can't create a new live set in Ableton
by Guest The Bro- 13 replies

Anyone had this problem? Seems that I can't create a totally blank set in Ableton. And what's doubley irritating is that each time I mess around with an existing set it maintains all the old play settings. Any ideas how to get around this problem because its really gonna become a problem otherwise?
