anyone using this? been really digging it recently, especially the FFT algorithyms for subtle processing. if you like the Sound Hack program, this is right up your street, but has the added bonus of lots of dsp explanations for the modules.... http://www.sciss.de/fscape/ speaking of FFT, the new FFT ensembles in the reaktor user library are fun too.....

Juno-60

My main man ken has his juno-60 set up in his living room, running through a solid roland amp. I fucked about for a little bit, and produced some wonderful ambient buisness. The juno has a 'hold' function, so i hit that lil' button and let the shit roll. I walked around his house digging the juno sounds, which differed in ambience from room to room. A simple set up in the right environment. Perfect.

Renoise audio help
by Guest Shining Rock- 3 replies

It seems I'm getting buffer issues or sound driver issues or something, I get distortion, and some minor clipping occasionally, and the sound gets "overloaded" more easily than I know it should, I have a SB Audigy 2 card and a good processor/memory, so I don't know what to do, tried tinkering with audio settings, didn't find anything that really helped, I'm using the Creative ASIO driver, but I also have the other 3rd party one, ASIO 4 all or something. Any help would be appreciated

I'm on the verge of trading my dj mixer for a studio mixer, so now I need a phono preamp for my turntable. Any recommendations? I see ART, BBE & Rolls make ones for around $50.

hello hello, i'm after something that can take MIDI signals and convert them into CV and DIN-sinc at the same time. So eg, I want to have my laptop as the master MIDI thing and then sync up a Korg KPR-77 drum machine to it using DIN-sync, a digital synth via MIDI and also an old analogue monosynth using CV. I want them all to be going at the same time and all in sync with the master MIDI clock (my laptop). The perfect thing for this is the Kenton Pro 4, but I can't find one for sale. So, I was wondering - with the Kenton Pro-Solo, you can use the MIDI-THRU as a DIN-sync connector. Can you then, have a MIDI signal going in to MIDI IN, a MIDI signal coming out…

Has anyone tried making video game music? I thought I might do some just for the fun of it but is there any kind of guide as of where to start? I thought I might cut up loads of 8-bit noises then start sequencing them but I'm sure there's an easier way or a "have this software link" solution that may be found on WATMM... :undecided:

max/msp quick start
by Guest hahathhat- 2 replies
hi, i've been programming for much longer than i've been writing music. i've also done electronics work, and even vaugely understand the math behind fourier transforms. so, max/msp, in my first motions of dicking around with it, feels pretty natural, actually. HOWEVER, like learning a programming language, even if you know how to program, you still have to memorize a lot of crap. essentially, i'll know vaguely what i want to do using max, and how to lay it out functionally, but i don't know which functions do what... or if it even has a function that does what i'm thinking of! i'm looking for two things: 1) a no-nonsense "quick reference" for max. says…

Sony ACID Simple Delay
by Guest Bad Influence- 1 reply

On a move from Acid Pro 6 to Ableton Live at the moment and I'm looking for a delay similar to that of Sony's Simple Delay. For some reason Sony have made it so that this VST can only be used in Acid. This is a screenshot of the delay interface. Note the 1 under tempo this allows you to make you delay a percentage of a synced note from 1 - 0.001. Does anyone know of a VST with the same kind of percentage sync abillity?

question about burning 96khz playable audio
by Guest aeser- 2 replies
ok so say you do things in 96khz because it sounds awesome and everything, of course to put it on a cd you have to degrade it to 44.1, but dvd audio and super audio cd's can handle 96khz audio, so if you have a dvd burner can you possibly burn a dvd of the audio in some format that can be played on dvd audio players? is there any way to do this DIY? or is it you just have to burn the data files of the 96khz audio and bring it to a mastering house who can somehow work their wizardry into making it a playable dvd-audio. i figure a super audio cd you'd need some fancy pants ridiculous specialized and probably stupid expensive burner device to make a disk. but yea, can anybod…

More Sub For Your Club

Finally finished my remix of Chris Moss Acid's "Sub Theme". Heavily influenced by Pet Shop Boys and Arthur Baker club mixes, so I had to call it the Special Extended Club Mix... The Junos made me do it! [gear wank] Once again this is pure MKS-7 Super Quartet. I.e. 3 Juno 106s and a 707. No overdubs or effects.
