What is going on in this patch? Should be pretty easy. Something I discovered on a guitar. free-running though, there is not any live playing, though it could be done live. Dont worry about the timbre but rythmically what is the pattern. Maybe ill try something a little harder later.

Ok seriously, it can't be that hard creating these lovely sounds. I mean I should be able to make them with this rather good VST Organ plugin I've got, but I can't seem to get the sound right. Does anyone have any ideas? Stabs such as the attachment...

Analog Modeling
by Guest LJG- 8 replies

So I ran across this today: This is like a hardware version of the very first ever synth I played with, the TS404 from Hammerhead. Of course that is a derivative itself, but it was a sheer joy to tweak. I'm new to synthesis, and I have an EMX-1. I chose this instrument based on the similarity of its synth functionality to the aforementioned TS404. What I enjoy most about synthesis is the process of making sounds, the actual knob twiddling aspects. Being also a pauper, I'm unable to afford true analog, but I'm quite attracted to dedicated machines and devices for sound creation. It may be just because of my interest that I'm noticing this, but with som…

i cant do a goddam thing :( i'm not even interested in making music anymore. i havent been interested in months. i'm in the middle of an ep i was supposed to finish this summer. i dont feel like anything i do is relevant anymore. i feel like i'm doing shit that's already been done. my tastes have changed. i dont like what i make anymore. i'm tired of hearing my guitar. synths sound too normal and inorganic. just vent my brothers. just vent.

ok you want to be musician you want to be a composer, quit your job, drop out of school, ditch your girlfriend, stop talking to friends. inspiration will come. its the only way, if you havent done it by now, you wont do it later if you keep on living the life of a proletarean pseudo-nihilistic slug. got me? if life circumpstances dont make you loose all your shit, you have to provoke that. also stop taking any drugs except weed, which you will smoke once every 3 days. no alcohol, no cigarettes. your dreams will be full, you will live through rainbows of emotions every day, you will make music forever. if you cant program yourself to like working on music…

i've been having a hard time choosing a new drum machine/master sequencer for some of the new gear i have. I'm really happy with my machine drum and electribe sx1. The main thing lacking with both of these as purely sequencing units is the inability to draw 16th notes, 16th triplets, 32nd notes, 32nd note triplets, 64th notes, custom note lengths all on the same pattern. I also require a 16-step style layout for my sequencer. Can these two things co-exist? Can somebody recommend a complex sequencer unit that has that ability?

better time stretching/warping
by Guest Robotussin- 4 replies

hey you guys, i read that afx interview where he was talking about using ableton for time stretching and called it a "bad idea." i want something that can do what ableton does with less artifacts. i think timestretch vst might do it, but i don't think it would give me as much control with the "warping" aspect. what do you use?
