autechre oversteps album/tour question

so...I didnīt want to spend whole thread on this one but since itīs the third day that there is no one but Syssyphus in the WATMM Chatroom I made it...

the question is:

...Autechre are playing ( or already played) in Prague(CZ) this year and there are rumours flying around that they use MC during their performance... other rumour is that there is some MC right on the īīOverstepsīī album...

...sincew thereīs no way I can get Oversteps in this country without knowing anyone can someone reply with any info/opinion on this?

...thanksalot...

Enough is enough.

Have read reviews/comments around the net now about 3 or 4 times describing "Ilanders" as their nod to Dubstep. I seriously don't see it. It's not as if it's the first time they've used that bass sound (clipper is almost 15 years old now).....and the rhythms are just as glitchy and autechre as ever. Does anyone agree that it sounds like some people are just hearing what they want to hear in the tune, or can someone point out to my where the dubstep connection is??

EP7

Just bought the wave version of EP7 just because I heard an awesome track from it on the Autechre broadcast.

And Jesus F**n Chris is this some sweet shit. I remember listening to it in my early days and thought it was too chaotic and "sketchy", but now it was an instant click.
I canīt believe this came out in 1999! These tracks are as fresh as ever and sounds like the predecessor to a lot of the wonky stuff being released right now.
Love the hiphop grooves and funky synth lines, and some of the best use of subtle glitchy effects Iīve ever heard. Just too funky!

Why Iīm bringing this up is especially because some of the tracks remind me a lot of Oversteps, especially Maphive6, and I keep drooling over the thought of EP7 getting the production quality of Oversteps!

I also remembering reading a couple reviews on EP7 and they were all completely ripping it apart saying it was rubbish with just a few decent tracks. Maybe the crowd just weren't ready to truly appreciate it?

http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/363-ep7/

Either way I think itīs my favorite from Autechre side by side with Quadrange EP and I recommend everyone to give it a rerun!

I got it last night. After 7 years it finally clicked as a whole album. I think I gave up on it on release cause I could only get into Surripere and P.:Ntl and I never really when back to it until now.
Can't believe it's taken so long

"in the middle, somewhat elevated"

just got back from the sf ballet's performance of "in the middle, somewhat elevated." its a pretty amazing piece of modern dance with an avante-garde electronic score from the mid 80s. It reminded me a lot of anvil vapre, with a few textural touches of confield. highly highly recommended; its playing saturday and sunday in SF. let me know if any local bay area people are going... i might just go again. the accompanying performance of stravinsky's petrouchka was also amazing, but thats another story ;)

also, why the hell hasn't autechre been used by any modern dance troupes yet?

Does anyone like this track? Am I missing something, or is it just random notes all bleeding reverberantly into each other like your eleven year-old sister's first blush of menses?

I think if this one track weren't on Oversteps, I might like it better overall, but it darkens my opinion of the other tracks insofar as they inherit this sense of just random synthetic mush.

I'm hoping someone who really likes it can help me hear it in a more favorable light!

i started last night and was gonna try to pull a marathon since i was banned from the .ws broadcast but i got tired and lonesome
today i picked it back up, will probably finish on friday but i didn't include the hafler trio collabs because you're not the boss of me
i'm on teartear from amber right now... i have done this before when i worked long shifts at night but it's time for a refresher course
only interesting thing i have learned so far is that i am starting to realize why many prefer later-era ae... inc. used to be my favorite
i still love it but its appeal is waning as i have been focusing on confield and afterwards recently... those albums are the mad notes
