nothing wrong with the key though, it's just a fifth or a seventh or something above, and maybe in an odd mode

I refuse to listen to that shit on the grounds it will ruin one of the best songs of TCH.
Why did the bothers even let her sample their song?
Doesnt it go against their "lets be mysterious" band ideology.

Probably, but that was likely outweighed by their "lets pay off our mortgages" ideology.

Boards of Canada was an underground band known by a few people in the world.
Now that solange used one of their songs they'll become popular and one of the main acts on Warp records.

Solange should become a new verb.

I liked the first bit of that track until the vocals came in and completely solanged the song.

They could have at least given it to a better singer or let someone like radiohead *shudders* sample it, not solange. Even Freescha managed to score a song with britney which is still better than solange.

I think it would have been tolerable if the vocals had been more subtle, and if she had not sacrificed pitch for style.  I think the concept was probably challenging in the first place, and she was probably doomed to failure in the view of BoC fans before she even started.

What I think is worse by far is that press releases leading up to the album's release stated she was "sampling" BoC, and this is a little more than just a sample, if you ask me.

I wonder if Michael and Marcus KNEW she would foul it up.

Sibling riding on success of untalented big sister, it was doomed from the start.

this sucks. i'm just going to pretend that it doesn't exist.

edit: and this could've turned out nicely, if maybe solange tried some experimentation with her voice instead of the same tired ass r&b stuff.

edit2: oh god i just listened to the last minute. this has been upgraded from murder suicide to massacre.

why.

WHY.
