Where did you take that picture, ericsosh?
I didn't take the picture (but I was there). It was in De Verdieping in Amsterdam, the basement of a building formerly used by a big newspaper (Trouw). Very nice and cozy concert.

This is probably my best show experience so far, and I dunno when or if it'll be topped. Daedelus was playing in town and the show got stopped after Machine Drum and Eliot Lipp played. While people were clearing out a lot of people stayed around and we talked to Daedelus and such and we found out he was still going to play at a local persons house. Around 20 people came to these college kid's living room where he did this small private quiet show. I was right next to the guy who took this picture so I was sitting on a couch right across from him. Was fucking awesome.

it was him and vibert dj'ing togeather .. sounded one was doing the main thing then the other sounded like .. was funky ...
also just going to a radiohead website checking someone elses piks .. defeats the point of having your boardmates person experiences in pixels .. and the odd comment ...
Pierre Bastien a couple of months ago:
wikid ..

well'ee well'ee well well ....
i was reading that at the start of this year the liquor licensing authority .. has created a new category .. whereupon small bar style venues can get a mandate to serve alcohol of significantly less yearly outlay ... the thinking behind this apparently is to follow the victorian model which has given melbourne such a vibrant live music scene .. (they have bars everywhere) ...
for those non australians that don't understand the context ... well we have many pubs but they are expensive to run and administer and have turned in turn to gaming for revenue rather than supporting the local musicians .... so at some point it was decided (recently by government) that smaller business models could exists not ness for the pervue of live music .. perhaps just as an extra revenue raising exercise (for government) .. and given that this has flown under the radar of the existing anti-alcohol lobby groups ... we have ended up with these exciting new laws which i somewhat support ... (have to read up what has been going on cause when i visited melbourne in jan. i was shocked at the number of bars .. it was a revelation .. i couldn't stop going on about the possibilities for minor bands to get an audience ... but whether that is the ultimate intention in either my state or vic. .. well i've got to research this further .. hopefully though it's spread continues unabated ... so we end up with the megapubs (which are now mostly owned and controlled by the two supermarket chains of the country) suffering under the naked competition of it all ... )
