i'm wondering if anyone has told you that the handwritten scrawl of the word "Legit" on a CD-R does not constitute authentication by any means, regardless of how many times the word has been underlined

This reminds me of when I was a kid, I played Ecco the Dolphin on the Master System and loved it. I really wanted Ecco 2 but didn't have the money because I was only a kid. So I devised this scheme where I write "Ecco 2" on a label and stick it to the cartridge, that should make the game magically change! So I did it and was well disappointed when it didn't work. Naive doesn't quite cover that.

Note - I was never stupid as a young'un. Clearly just incredibly optimistic to the point that logic just breaks down completely.

like when i desperately wanted a Macintosh, but only had a P166 MMX PC, so i used various programs to make my Windows 98 SE look like Mac OS 7.5
