Does anyone else feel like listening to Seven Forty Seven is the musical equivalent to taking ecstasy? I mean, after reading all the people bitching about it not being a new track and being unimpressive, I've gotta say, I had pretty much zero expectations for it (not that I don't expect a lot from BOC, I just didn't wanna get my hopes up). However, the way the song subtly builds to a wonderfully orgasmic climax made me feel like I was rolling...yet I was completely sober. I can't explain it (a recurring element in BOC's art that makes it more than just music), but I was beyond happy when I listened to Seven Forty Seven. I guess I don't really understand the people who diss on this track - to me, it is classic BOC and evokes emotions that drugs and other music just can't pinpoint (BOC's trademark). Anyone else feel this way also?

I don't do drugs so i can't comment on this thread.

However, it is like getting pissed on real ale. The first couple are fantastic but after that i'm struggling.

Yeah, this song has a total euphoric feel to it. I agree about how people should stop complaining how its not new or anything. It's still an amazing track. It is kind of funny to think about how they could have had the original ideas for this as early as the late 80s and it took till now to get a proper release.

I listened to it on an actual Boeing 747. Going in and out of the clouds, looking at the wings.

My life in now complete.

I think it's a pretty excellent slice of shoegaze grandiosity. :boc:

i listened to it in fast mode on some decent speakers recently...and it was wonderful, it really is like the perfect union of Slowdive or Seefeel with BoC....just a huge headrush of lovely distorted sounds.

Excellent tune and I don't go all orgasmic over everything BoC do either.

I used to think it was shite but it's grown on me. I can see why it wasn't released though, hard to see where it would fit on any of their own releases.

I've probably listened to it 6 or 7 times total and it is a pretty good track. I don't know, I listen to BOC about 95% less than I used to a few years back and maybe I'm just getting tired of them. We will have to see how the new album sounds when it comes out but maybe the novelty has just worn off for me.

hell yeah, love this song. my favorite thing about it is the hissing lo-fi hi-hat. I reminds me of the music that is played in Courage the Cowardly dog whenever the character "KATZ" comes on.
