IMO (though I haven't been around for a while) WATMM should be SFW. Mods should edit NSFW posts and change image tags to hyperlinks with NSFW indicated and a spoiler tag for good measure, like so. Then there's less of a chance of an IT department snooping around and blocking us.

Honestly I would not really mind that. There are plenty of places out there to post that kind of stuff.

Yes, but you forgot how fucking lazy WATMMers are, that even if the promise of porn is at the end of a link, the fact they have to click it is proof-positive that it requires too much effort.

Yeah, it's laziness. Bastards.

How's the new WATMM coming along by the way?

Would it be too trusting to launch new WATMM as a wiki or something similar? There's enough scope with electronic music, and probably enough knowledgeable people to make something quite interesting. There are probably plugins to limit abuse as well as deliver additional features you may want - news, downloads or what have you.

that would fall apart so quickly.

consider, that most threads artist related have three or four initial responses full of misleading evidence "afx did outside violin, afx did pikachu too, etc etc"

Yeah, maybe it's too much to hope that it'd be taken more seriously than the forum. There are posts here, though, that have opened my eyes to things I can't believe I hadn't heard before, or interesting bits of history. It'd be good to have a one stop for info electronic music past and present, perhaps it would attract more people that know a good deal about this stuff, whether it's a small label, record or some niche topic. Idanno.

I think a Wiki would only really be updated by the people who cared. But there's always a useless cunt with too much time on their hands more than happy to start putting bullshit on there. Like ZAZ or troon or someone.

It's a cool idea in theory though.
