Sorta continuing on from this post, I am looking to buy a bike.
I also know nothing about bikes.
Help.
Any suggestions/things to look out for when buying? How much to pay? Where to get em? Accessories? Any info would be mad appreciated!

Just go to a decent bike shop (independently owned, staffed by bicycle nerds) and they'll set you up. I don't know how much more bikes are in the UK, but I wouldn't spend less than $250 on one in the states, you should get a really capable bike for $300-400. So maybe budget 200 quid?
if you're mainly using for commuting, I'd recommend an MTB-style commuter over an all-out road bike (the ones with funny handlebars).

Serious advice m8

Cube Ltd4. Real good bike, got it when it was barely a year old for only 800€ including Shimano XT and damn good suspension (of which I forgot the name) which is a pisstake basically. Great bike for cross-country, definitely above average on the road....11,5kg what uppppppppp.
Search for it, if you find it, it must be real cheap now.
