Hey,

Just picked up my ticket today and was wondering how many of you are going?

Anyone fancy a meet up at a nearby pub before the set?

i still can't get over how so few recordings exist of the awesome Quaristice tour.

Are they Quaristice recordings then? I've not seen any...

On topic - I'm going to Birmingham on Friday - doesn't help much does it

There are reasons you haven't heard Quar. boots and never will.

1. Booth/Brown allegedly hired the Don Coreleone of soundmen to cockblock any and all attempts to interface. Which infuriates me because if I were a performing artist and at least more than one person showed up to my concert, I'd be all "hey, I can rotate this monitor if you can get a better line of sound on your recorder" or I'd sidechain some mixers together with "inputs for all" and I would just say "get it fucking crystal clear guys, .flac it up, upload it to your friends, put in on your blogs, put a USB thumb drive of it in your grandma's next suppository."

Even though I hate crusty outfits like Phish and Grateful Dead (sorry), I always appreciated their "bootlegger's section" and all of those guys were just like us after all. I can remember talking to some Phish "Phanatic" who would by these incredibly expensive cassette tapes made out of a ceramic casing because, since the ceramic was considerably more dense than the standard plastic housing, the recording would be much more clear and stable since vibrations would be cut dramatically and the tape would sit more firmly in the recorder and allow better magnet contact.

If you looked out from above, you could see telescoping mic stands reaching 10-15 ft. in the air to get the "best shot". Not one or two, but loads of them. I've got some ethical queasiness about certain forms of cracking, p2p, keygens, etc. but if you bought your ticket fair and square and boot, you have become an emissary for this band. They should give you a boot percentage if you contract to record because it will only benefit the band. I challenge any of you to counter that statement.

2. Will the same cocksucker be along for the ride this time? If so, get a hanky, get a dab of halothane or chloroform, put this guy down briefly, handcuff him to a fencepost in the venue alley, and plug in folks*

*not really, internet disclaimer, don't do that shit--I'd probably get extradited for his accidental death suit in the UK for suggesting it.

yeah - i know about that dude protecting the soundboard during the Quaristice tour. but i'm not necessarily talking about soundboard. there are hardly even any audience recordings available of that tour! 2 or 3 at the most?

there's the "this doesn't sound like autechre but there are 2 guys on the stage!" one...

there's the "i wanna bang you in the butt!" one...

...and those are the only 2 i've heard. if folks have any others from this tour then plz upload.

but yeah - if this same guy is on the soundboard for this tour. then... :shuriken:

if that doesn't work then have some good gear ready and get some quality mic recordings.

I'm surprised to see not many replies in this thread, expressing excitement..

I am looking forward to hearing how this live set sounds. I think each live set has got better as the years have passed. The Quaristice set was excellent, with so many little melodies and catchy drum patterns. Hopefully we'll get an update tomorrow morning in this thread on how it all went in Manchester

so who wants to hear it???? :spiteful:

since i found Oversteps to be mostly dissapointing, i'm actually thinking the live sets from this tour will be much better than the album.

POST IT please!

btw - was somebody guarding the soundboard at tonights show?
