really?! i mean... just think about it for second. both names have 2 shared attributes, Mt./Mount and St./Saint, Michel and Michael are near gender equivalents, and both locations share similar geographic identities.

yeah... i don't think it has any meaning to Rich at all.

It has, he sampled the church bells at the top of 'Mont Saint-Michel'.

he also had that french girlfriend, nannou... recall some drama posts on XLT that were all HE USED MY SISTER'S VOICE ON THAT SONG etc.

quite possible rumor drivel, but your comment about the duality of the song made me think of it. richard cornwall noises and nannou france noises?

also could just be about pretty pictures. i've been to mont saint-michael and it's intense...

Bodmin?

It's there already.

Ah, so it is, sorry dude. I doublechecked your list three times as well. Erm, is Cymru pushing it a bit? It is on the map...

no problem at all.

i thought about adding Cymru but isn't it more of an area than a definitive locale. it's Wales right?

i wonder why he named a song 'Lisbon Acid', it's the only big and instantly recognised city in all of that.

As far as i know, he has only played once in Portugal in November 2000 (it was in Lisbon), but still, trying to put myself in the brain of mr. Richard himself, and i lived for a year in Lisbon 3 years ago, i don't see any special feature that could catch his mind:

electronic music scene is the typical south european/ibiza/you name it style.

drug scene is the usual stuff if you are into the drugs subculture: you can get anything you want pretty easily, scoring drugs is at a phone call distance with home delivery service included sometimes.

i can only see, if he cares about it, the weather that is a million times better then the UK.
