Bleep: Filtered - An unsigned competition and compilation in association with
Warp Records, SoundCloud and Transition Mastering

Bleep: Filtered is a brand new Unsigned Competition and Compilation offering unsigned artists a unique chance to have their tracks A&Red, mastered, released, promoted, marketed and sold to the public. Bleep are partnering with their sister company Warp Records as well as SoundCloud and Transition Studios to throw a spotlight on the un-tapped electronic musical and production talents from around the World.

The competition is now open and we will be taking music submissions from producers and musicians for three weeks. Once these tracks are collected, the music will be 'filtered' by Bleep and the Warp A&R team. Throughout this judging period, Bleep will be posting updates on their Facebook page of some of the best tracks alongside feedback and commentary from the judging panel.

The final tracklist (between 10-12 tracks) will be revealed at the end of October, and will be mastered by world renowned Transition Mastering Studios in London, who will work closely with the winners to ensure best results. The compilation will be released and sold exclusively on Bleep. All winning tracks will receive a 50% share of profits generated by the release.

First you make the track, then you get the power, then you get the women.

Dubstep has probably existed ever since there were Transformers noises to sample.

Thinking of submitting this track:

Though really I'm not sure how popular cracktro style dnb is these days, especially on Warp. Maybe I can replace the drums with dubstep drums and pretend I'm ripping off Rustie?

I've heard that people at Warp are looking for NDC artists... :sup: lul (that would be nice)
Let the cool rule !

By the way Modey, I really like your track !
This competition is clearly interesting...Does the word "unsigned" mean that you keep the "copyright control" of your track ?

I suppose the best thing to do is submit what works of your own that you think are good and have faith in and try not to think too much about what is 'en vogue' or 'cool' or what. I'm probably gonna just do a few changes to my "3rd Phase" tune and submit that.

i can't help but feel that the winners are just going to be vocal driven tracks with dubstep beats and flashy synths that will end up sounding really dated in a few years. warp no longer represents the cutting edge of electronic music and hasn't for years so excuse my pessimism and cynicism.

that said, good luck to my watmm brethren. don't go too hard on the ABL basslines, now.

Did you observe proper IDM goat sacrifice procedure? Melt the goat down in a vat of acid in a warehouse, while playing bass guitar & quoting Sesame Street skits from the 70s? Because if not that's probably why you didn't win.
