i'll just include stuff i stopped listening to.
up until 13 or so: weezer, korn, limp bizkit, beck, green day, buzz bin bands (semisonic, fastball, soul coughing, squirrel nut zippers, etc lol), prodigy, crystal method, chemical brothers, moby, red hot chili peppers
14-19: anything on anticon; anything on constellation (gybe and whatnot) and post-rock in general; venetian snares and other idm; quirky indie rock shit i guess, like broken social scene and shit; uhhhhh medeski martin and wood? jim o'rourke's stuff, primarily drag city releases (just haven't really listened to him for awhile), wolf eyes and non-music noise—sort of phased that out as well. and still some beck, although limited to weird folky shit like one foot in the grave and stereopathetic soulmanure. can't remember what else

I just listened to Rammstein's first(?) album for the first time in years after listening to the Lost Highway soundtrack for the first time in years. It gets old after about 7 songs, but I can totally see why I loved it in grade 8. As far as that processed metal guitar chugging sound goes, it doesn't get any beefier than early Rammstein. If they had quit after Sensucht rather than churn out the same album over and over they would be remembered as legends.
Also, Lost Highway soundtrack is as good now as it was then.
