lol I'd guess it's the equivalent of buying a car with a non-functioning accelerator pedal. :D
I'm sure it's fixable though. I'd love to play around with a hardware sampler at some point. Seems like it could be a lot of fun.

'Seems' is definitely the right word lol. I got an Akai S2000 and haven't really managed to use it yet. To be honest its kinda a pain in the ass to use. I did try sampling some stuff with it but it just kept freezing. I'm gonna try getting some samples on there but its really not easy at all to be honest!lol I'd guess it's the equivalent of buying a car with a non-functioning accelerator pedal. :D

an S2000, with a two line old-school LCD display = not fun, even when the sampler is working properly (yours sounds like it isn't since it's freezing [also i know because i trained on one in college])
S5000/S6000 with a massive 320x240 full graphic display = absolute dream to use (i know, i had one)
