I have heard of this mentioned only passingly and very few times over the last years and I never took a look at what it really is. It doesn't look like there are any demo's or youtube vid's as far as I can tell. It's a collection of really oldschool looking standalone music apps for mac/win with a long history of development.

http://composersdesk...om/history.html
http://composersdesk...m/software.html look through the PDF section

Anyone try this?

I've only heard Richard Devine mention CDP. I always fathomed it is what he used to randomly generate bundles of audio snippets.

I dunno if I could keep a straight face all the way through if I was sitting there, even though it is awesome.

I'm just wondering what CDM is like.. remember seeing it running on some dudes computer sometime.. lot of windows..

meh I'll stick with Pd, maybe a little Csound.. Csound has VOSIM's ;)

unless you are an amazing programmer in Max or PD i dont think you can do the same stuff as you could in CDP. Its a pain to understand the gui's but its still just menus and stuff.

RadarJammer, I imagine your computer as this super slow mess with 50 DAWs installed and thousands of free VSTs primed and ready to go

Contrary, I have a computer set aside for music stuff only and its pretty focused, I don't like putting things on it that I might want to delete later so I test and explore stuff on a sandbox netbook mostly just for fun but the things that I add to my real setup are just a few things that really butter my toast.
