Anyone tried the beta of Bitwig Studio yet? The developers are Ex-Ableton staff members who founded a company in the same street Ableton is located at in Berlin. Fun fact: Ableton was started by Ex-Native-Instruments staff who is also located in the same street. They where pissed by Native to not create a DAW back then (today they kind of did with MASCHINE). Bitwig Studio Studio does look very similar to Live or like Live 9 should look like. So while everybody is waiting for Live 9 there is much going on right now.

Studio One 2 looks like Ableton Live meets Fruity Loops and supports Snap to Scale and Melodyne DNA natively. Also you can show and edit multiple midi tracks in the same window on top of each other a feature I always missed in Live

I don't think anyone publicly has a beta of Bitwig, i'm signed up to the beta thing but haven't had any notification about it since.

wow just aesthetically speaking it looks far more awesome to me than Abelton. Visually it looks like a fusion between Cubase and abelton.

one thing though, i dont see any use of Melodyne DNA just melodyne old school monophonic, where did you read/see that?

Yeah I might just have mixed this up. I totally agree and in addition I wonder if the departure of their staff will cause delays in Live 9s release date. Many expect a complete redesign of Live and I wonder where this will all lead to

i'd be happy if Cubase just implemented something on par with Live's clip view and loop time stretching algorithms. To me this is live's biggest strength besides it's midi implementation and max4live. Everything else about Live feels rinky dink to me

Damn, Bitwig looks just like Live. I mean, I'm sure there are differences, but wow.

Is Cubase your preferred sequencer? Just curious

My friend is raving about the latest version of Cubase so may give it a shot. I gotta say Live is shit for piano editing. I do like the look of Bitwig though mainly 'cause you can do sessions together over the internet with another person which I think is frikkin' awesome. That said working together in the studio is kinda more fun.

Why is live shit for piano editing?
The intenet sessions will be a cool little add-on, but really even the ability to LAN in a room with other musicians and work out of the same sound source on the same files is one of the coolest things Bitwig offers... well. besides having the clip and arrangement view in one screen like most DAW's, dual moniter support, and a modular system...

I got high hopes for Bitwig.

cubase was always the bread an butter daw for me, can't go wrong with it. Does Presonus Studio have any advantages over Logic and Cubase, its looks ok but why should I bother.

Studio One2 is not in beta, it's released. Melodyne is only the monophonic version unless you already own the full melodyne editor, apparently. There's a review here: http://www.musicrada...l-526321/review

Didn't get a mail yet. :( I'm really pumped to try this though. About 3 weeks ago I made the mistake of letting Logic update itself which broke my crack. I could reinstall it but I'm kinda sick of logic anyways and was up for something new. Never could get into Live properly.
