Karl Rove (I'm serious) said it was bought and paid for by the Obama admin to paint Chrysler's bail out in a positive light for reelection purposes and profit.
Nobody gives a shit, apparently, how blatantly militaristic/jingoistic and creepy Eastwood threatening "the world will feel the ROAR OF OUR ENGINES" is. Look out Kia factories!

yea Eastwood was way over the top. knock out the country with one punch? what punch is he talking about?
it would have been cool if he used the same dramatic grizzled voice to describe why Detroit failed by offering inferior products at inflated prices for decades and then get money from daddy to keep practicing an outdated and failed business model. that would have been a good commercial.

it's like some sort of rationalization. "yeah, we're totally enveloped in this animalistic game, BUT LET'S NOT FORGET WE HAVE MORALS."

I would rather my children be exposed to things of a sexual nature than violence. This country has it completely back-asswards.

As much as Eastwood did this for a quick and easy cash, my question is HOW THE FUCK DOES ONE BASH CLINT EASTWOOD!? That guy is so fucking American!

Wait, Karl Rove is right. Look at that raging liberal scumbag stare down Reagan. You can practically see him plotting to ursurp America's freedom by placing the Obama, the Antichrist communist reptilian overlord, in the seat our now tainted White House.
Mai. Gawd.

True, we can't even do sports right. Let's have some meatheads run into each other for small periods of time, talk shit and act unsportsmanlike, then embrace such attitudes to sell alchohol and fatty snack foods! Better yet, let's play this only in America yet call ourselves WORLD CHAMPIONS! FUCK YEAH 'MERICA!

What the fuck? Ummm, i dunno, I'm not history major, but I have this odd feeling that Obama wasn't the president in 2008, when the bailouts were issued. What the fucking fuck?

This is Karl Rove, though. Karl Rove exists at this point to spin the narrative that Obama is a socialist. Karl Rove cares not for history.

Yeah I watched it again and it's quite bad. I only caught part of it live. It's really the whole Obama campaign ad angle that's annoying, as the bailouts would of occurred with W in office as well. I'm all for criticizing that or the corporate "emotional appeal" bullshit or the bailouts in general, but clearly it's easy to go Hollywood actor + Obama = liberal conspiracy. Rove like any other pundit goes for the surface assumptions and tangents from there.

edit: I would have been ok with a GE ad featuring an aspie GE engineer awkwardly geeking out about his turbine design if it didn't go any further.
