Usually when i'm downloading music I go by the track times on wikipedia and/or samples of the songs on various websites. But as i'm downloading MfM, the song lengths don't seem to be matching the sample and vice versa. Is the Melodies from Mars page on wikipedia accurate? confused.gif

Absolutely love this album, why it didn't get a retail release is beyond me. Probably up to the Gods I guess?

i found some flacs of this on the slsx but they are all scratchy and sound like they were low res mp3 that were changed into flac
vs. flac from the original source. anybody got some clean versions of this? wanna share?

(also found some lovely flacs of ab5 that sound like they came direct from a cd. >>>woot!)

Well seeing as MFM isn't actually released, the track lengths on Discogs and Wikipedia will be slightly different due to different rips of the original tapes.

... also I may add in a different order on some rips.

What about the other 'unreleased' album - 14 tracks or so.. Do you have that one Joyrex?

It sounds quite lo-fi like MFM

How do you know about that GI Raffe?

But yes, I've got a MD of 14 unreleased tracks. The whole sorted story will be in the discography, along with sound samples. Stay tuned.

I spoke to Richard about it last year, and he actually said I could put up a few tracks for full release, but then we lost touch, and I've just been keeping quiet about it until WATMM launches proper, in the next month or so.

*cough*

Ah yes I love MFM it has his most simplistic melodies, and yet his most emotional in my opinion. Tracks 6 and 7 have some of the most glossy synth lines ever!

Hmm. Never have heard this. Back when I was on the IDM list, I had thought it was a fake release, as in, not by RDJ. Guess I gotta find it somewhere...

This album feels like Richard was abducted by aliens , and while the Doctor Alien was performing anal probe on him , Two other Aliens played around with his music equipment.

wasn't there a thread like a year or so ago that had those 14 tracks? i remember the maravanvose mix of ventolin was one of them, maybe that was a different collection entirelly. had poor sound quality though like described

that's too unpleasant to be MFM....

"Melodies from Mars" has nothing to do with the tracks

Is it just me, or MFM's version of Fingerbib is better than the RDJ album version.
