Hmm, only somewhat interested in the Bathory reissues. I'll just get that the month after RSD, the shops around here still have loads of RSD releases of 2013 (and I'm guessing also 2012), especially the black metal ones (burzum etc.). I'd also like the Fela Kuti 7" but 1: that's not worth bothering joining the queue and madness, and 2: you can't press a decent Fela track onto a 7".

Hawkwind, OPN, Pantera and Sun Ra look tempting. But if you think I'm going through the mental pain and anguish of dealing with the horseshit of RSD, you've got another thing coming  fuck that lol!!

My favorite album ever is getting pressed for the first time - This is a Pinback LP. The Field, OPN, and Thee oh Sees also grab my attention - will definitely try to pick those up.

There's only one record I'm interested in (OPN), but I'll not be queuing for it. If it's not in my local store by lunchtime/afternoon, I'll accept my fate as chum for ebay sharks.

Stupid tradition. And from what I've read around the internets it's bad for smaller labels too.

Was that because of things like pressing runs for smaller labels being bumped due to the big boy labels pushing their way to the front of the queue, in order to get their RSD-only editions pressed up in time?

that's the only one i want too. has there been any indication of how limited it is or whether it will be sold elsewhere (i.e. Bleep)? i'm trying to decide if it's worth traipsing down to Edinburgh for (50 miles away).

Right, that's what it was. Couldn't remember. Labels like Tri Angle and Modern Love complained about it on twitter recently.

Not sure about Bleep, but my local store put up a spreadsheet containing vague stock availability on how many of each record they are getting in. OPN shows as 'Lots'.

My Local Record Store told me that there are extremely limited (given the demand) runs of the OPN "Commissions I", so they can only get two copies, apparently. I checked out the website, and it appears that they are right: under the "regional or limited runs" category: http://download.recordstoreday.com/free/RSD_2014_RELEASES_WEBSITE.pdf

Only 1000 copies

'regional in nature'? i really can't see what the difference is between those first two categories apart from the second being <1000 copies. or rather, i don't see how a Warp release is 'regional'. hard to know if that's 1000 for the world or just for the US. i'd be pretty surprised if Warp only pressed up 1000 of these total, considering how much attention OPN is getting and how many they could expect to push...

i'll probably just buy it from a scalper.
