Partly because we are decorating downstairs of the house and most of my music in inaccessible plus the stereo isn't plugged in.... But also because I think it is healthy for my enjoyment of their music to have an enforced break every now and then. Anyone else ever do this? The longer the break, the bigger the anticipation and the explosion of my mind when I have a vinyl binge on them sometime soon! Sorry if jazz thread, search couldn't find one..... Having "Too shy, shy, hush, hush, eye-to-eye" stuck in your head, getting home afterwork and listening to LCC or Pen Expers seems to right the balance again. beerwolf Posted April 20, 2014 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Same. I'm either in Autechre mode or out, unlike AFX or BOC which I constantly trip along nicely too. I can have zero tolerance breaks for a few months. But when I get back into it, I can play a couple of hours of stuff everyday for a long time. xox Posted April 20, 2014 Share Posted April 20, 2014 when i'm into autechre i don't listen to afx. they're kind of opposite to me. the last 10 yrs i have cycles of 2 yrs of autechre then 1 month of afx (beethoven all the time). beethoven is keeping me in the equilibrium. i really don't know what would i listen to if there's no autechre (of electronic music). god bless them! Strangely re-listenings to the previous stuff never gave me anything substantially new, no turnarounds. On my computer i even deleted everything up until Confield recently. I like most of it, but not a single change of heart or notice of a new detail, nothing. Contrary to the trademark scenario. Also more wintery, at least to the extent Southern California has winter. Oversteps has a little bit more of a daylight/summery vibe so that one will probably get heavier rotation. I usually have a break from ae in the Summer - and return to them when it starts to get cold around Autumn onwards. Their music is definitely seasonal for me.
