Really interesting thing and it happens quite a bit making sequences but I love it when it's intentional. I'll upload a sample of an old track I made which does this but I love it for it. I know I'm off and sometimes I can get back on the 'one' or I just give up. Anyone else have this problem? Here are some prominent examples that have haunted me for years: Aphex 'Acrid Avid Jam Shred' - The one should be when the first closed hihat kicks in, but I'm always counting the first open hihat as the first beat of the bar. I can't shake it off and I feel I've always listened to this track incorrectly: http://youtu.be/YwZ_9V37KxA That happened to me when Richard mixed Acrid Avid Jam Shred in at ATP LA 2002. It was mixing in and I was totally off. It was really rad. I thought for a while it was some fucked up version of it, but then I finally got on to the 1. Still amazing! chassis Posted October 5, 2015 Share Posted October 5, 2015 It happens a lot to me when I cant hear the bass in a track, poor speakers or being outside whatever. But I wish it could last longer, because you actually hear a track in a completely different light. My brain automatically corrects once I can hear the "one". But for a few seconds you hear a track and it's completely different to how your brain imagines it. Kind of gives you an insight on how people can view tracks in a very different way.
