Is anybody doing music similar to RDJ's earlier work?

from the same era but most afx non afx track i know

You can hear echos of so many other artists on that album - New Wave 3 could have come from the On EP or the back side of Donkey Rhubarb, Eaxade has Plaid written all over it, and you could hide Mokotryde on Key Nell and not bat an eyelid. Incredible album, can't remember the last time I saw anyone mention it

This is a much better release imo http://www.discogs.com/Passarani-2099-It-Will-Be-What-It-Was/master/722454

This is the best tune passarani has done. totally AB stylee

I would say early µ-Ziq is a great place to look for this stuff. Bluff Limbo especially sounds a lot like something Aphex might have done at that time, and Lunatic Harness to a slightly lesser extent (though it's something everyone should hear regardless).

Passarani and Nature records were really pushing a good sound in the 90's. Theres a better track on that new wave/old wave 12. has a really deep acid progression going through it. great one. buy on sight, that and 'stage clear, mission one accomplished'

you must have heard this on nature, surely?

Well I've finally caved in and bought The Green House Effect thanks to this thread... Now I just need to visit someone with a record player to digitise the damned thing... The CD was way too expensive. Funky clear green record though, let's just hope it sounds as good as it looks!

Here is one of my own tracks that I think might fit into this category. Big whomping kick drums under expansive synthetic skies.

This track maybe loosely fits the description but has similar resonation:

Just curious. The emulators (myself included) tend to gravitate toward is later beat-fuckery music, but is anybody doing music similar to his early to mid 90's stuff like SAW I or the AB series? If so I'd like to hear it.

Didn't read the whole thread, so apologies if this came up already... IMO the best and most authentic sounding early-Aphex-style artist is RX-101, by far. SAW1 style, Analogue Bubblebath style, Polygon Window style, Caustic Window style, Universal Indicator style... he's got them all down pat. You may want to accuse me of being biased, since I release RX-101 on my label, but I think I can put my own bias aside and say it really doesn't get any closer than this outside of RDJ himself:

Yes I can totally agree with this. Eriks soundcloud had some asbsolute beauties in there and there were literally only a couple of duds in there out of over a hundred. I am so glad they are slowly being released by you. I hope they get the recognition they so richly deserve.
