Are there any other artists with the same Warm/Nostalgic/Apocalyptic feeling like BoC

I can never get enough of BoC's quality and original sound, but are there any other artists that are similar? I've been trying to find some and failed to discover what I was looking for.

I feel like Pye Corner Audio are in the same ball park, but your results may vary.

tides by arovane

gonglot by frog pocket

holo by kiln

hrrmm that shit doesn't hit the spot at all the tho ignore me

The new patten estoile naiant

not tycho

Erm, I'd say early Tycho is similar to BOC... Past is Prologue and Dive are very similar in vibe to BOC.

I feel like Tycho is similar stylistically (sorta) but is lacking the genuine feels. Or in a nicer maybe more accurate way, Tycho has an 80s washed out pop music vibe that isn't really all that similar to BoC. The first 3 I mentioned almost evoke similar emotions but are stylistically a wee bit different. Holo by Kiln smashes the stark landscape feels out of the country park..

Tim Hecker doesn't hit the spot either.

FSOL. Some of their work reminds me of BoC. They work the nostalgia pretty hard, and even through multiple releases, they reuse certain distinctive sounds and even the exact same sample. It's not subtle like BoC, but intentionally profound as per their M.O.

The atmospheres are more similar at times, and its where i really relate the 2. A myriad of children, as well as a masculine/famine vocal presences make the comparison rather easy, but anyway heres a few from the top of my head. Cant think of the track i thought about initially though, but these have what the OP might be after perhaps

I would dive into older chillwave/glow-fi/hypocegentic pop, and vaporwave - but me mindful a lot of it is crap. That said the better stuff channels the same nostalgic hauntology vibe of BoC.

A lot of underground tape labels are very much in the vein of BoC - analog synths, old samples, etc.

I like this guy a lot, beatless but excellent.

Some more tape warped lo-fi stuff of a BoC vibe

can vouch for 1991 high-tech high-life. Dalhous is another really great group, I believe they're even a scottish duo. Their latest album, Will To Be Well was one of my favorites of 2014.

Nice rec, hadn't heard this myself.

also, dream pop, shoegaze and late 90s early 00s incarnations of that, while not the same, isn't far off

They have a pretty unique sound, so there's not much that I'm aware of.

Christ. is an obvious one that comes to mind:

Bachel has a pretty BoC-y vibe: http://www.ampoulerecords.com/release_detail.php?label=talenthoover&cat=talent014

This compilation has a little bit of the early BoC feeling to it: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Music-Volume-One-And-Two/release/40985

People forget that Christ was a member of BOC when Twoism was released

I bet Christ wished everyone forgot he was in BoC, he could be judged on his own merits then ;)

I posted a link in the thread below (new site) if people are looking for good alternative BoC sounds
