Yes, as outlined above, RDJ tops The Wire's 2014 poll (beating out Swans at no.3, Actress at no.5, RTJ2 at no.9).

Will post more, including full list, when I get home from work in a couple of hours.

**RTJ2 is actually no.8...Flying Lotus brings up the rear at no.50

i'm sorry but Actress - Ghettoville is better than Swans - To Be Kind & Scott Walker and Sunn O))) - Soused... it's my opinion...

Congratulations you have won
It's a years subscription of bad puns.
And it makes your story our concern
You said it all and you glory burns

My opinions. Mmm. Mmm.

This is pretty big for Aphex. Wire is The reference regarding leftfield and experimental music. It's awesome that they acknowledge him in such an ecstatic way.

Why isn't A U R O R A there? Actress is too high on that list, for me.

for FlyLo, i'm not surprized, 'cause his album sounds dirty & crappy & is not the best sound in compare to his previous albums... He wanted to do both a jazzy and dirty style... To make a dirty trick, he should see the work of Matmos... Because its there quickly boring to listen force...

it's pretty amazing how much the Wire has lost it's edge in terms of being a curator of obscure or underground music. Not to say a lot of those releases on that list are great or warranted, but wow.

it's a virtually identical list to what I would expect from something like Factmag, Pitchfork or Boomkat

Can someone please post the pitchfork list when it's out so that John understands that he's wrong. Thanks.

ok that was a stretch, but I mean seriously don't these people look outside of their promo inboxes for new electronic music? Its depressing

Overall agree with you but check out some of the releases on The Wire contributor's Outer Limits chart. I think that might be what you're after.
