Burial - Temple Sleeper

When we were kids the little music we had was on repeat constantly and finding genres we liked was down to trial and error; I don't know that I'll ever have a connection to an album in the sense that I do with Eno's 'Apollo', for instance, as it was my first ambient CD and the period in which I played it constantly overlapped with some major emotional tumult.

For albums like 'Tomorrow's Harvest' and 'Syro' I really hyped myself up and was sure to listen to them in a specially chosen location all the way through. Doing so left an indelible impression on the music akin to how I feel about albums I was introduced to as a kid.

So, I'd say that having that sort of connection to music is still very possible but the listening experience has to be elevated beyond simply streaming off YT... I hope that makes sense.

/further thread derailment
