What's Up With Richard Following NAVS On Soundcloud?

For whatever reason, Da Gawd has been following Navs on SoundCloud ( https://soundcloud.com/navs) and continues to after unfollowing the likes of µ-Ziq, Somadril and even his own, official, AphexTwin account. Perhaps he just thinks the guy deserves more spotlight, admires what he’s doing, or something else. Who knows really? Trying to assume someone else’s perspective can be a pretty futile exercise. Maybe it isn’t significant at all, but after getting a little more familiar with Navs' sounds on bandcamp and remembering that Richard recently released a modular trax compilation during the Syrobonkers interview I’m excited about what Richard may be cooking up, and impressed with the new (To me at least. Feel free to school a noob.) terrain Navs is navigating. Can’t say I was wowed by any of the stuff on Modular Trax tbh (Navs >) but man, there is some serious potential here imo. We all know how capable Richard is, and with a whole new smorgasbord of strange and exciting modular sounds at his disposal I can only imagine what may be lying in wait. Here’s some of Nav’s stuff that has me psyched:

i reckon it's rich himself.

aphex twin follows rich alt, so rich alt follows another rich alt.

sound reasoning.

He just wants to give the guy some exposure because he makes nice sounds? Listening to a few tracks on his bandcamp, really neat things in there. And then there's this:

https://vimeo.com/119211018

Would've liked to witness that live, too late...

He also narrated 'I Dream Of Wires', so he's no stranger really.

At first i also thought it could be him, but if you look at the uplaod dates navs has already uploaded stuff like 3 or 4 years ago already, that made me doubt it's actually RDJ. i really love dornröschen, It's a great track!

i'd imagine he might want to follow navs' many demos of new eurorack modules, perhaps to check out what he'd like to try for his own modular, or to get ideas from navs' detailed descriptions.

Interesting stuff for sure. Both these and the modular tracks are. I will say though, imho, this isn't new territory by any means. It sounds like some of the oldest territory explored by electronic stuff in the 50s-60s.

i reckon Aphex has to be careful about who he follows since it would be the subject of entire internet threads.
