I think this may well be my favourite release from him so far. Some really nice ethereal ambiance going on amongst a clutter of percussion. Still giving it repeat listens and finding more and more things crop up that I didn't notice before.

For the sake of balance, I'm quite disappointed by this release. It feels like a big step backwards from and.iv. Only the final track feels like a progression, the rest seem to relay on neverending glitchy sounds, evoking little except a beat-mangling plugin or two.

I wouldn't agree that it's a step backwards, figuratevily, but i believe it's the first time in his discography when it's not a step forward. Before that, if you find his netlabel debut, he was powering up considerably - i couldn't recognize a lot of fresh movements, it was always a small or sometimes big shock.

 

One distinctive feature of this release is a more coherent style throughout.
