autechre live on NTS radio this friday

the stream friday, the nts webpage made after, and that mixcloud all show the same 30.2 mb m4a/mp4 source file named b82b_ef3b_4a35_ba87_3b826bac1d2f. websites and plugins transcoding that to produce a higher bitrate mp3 seems likely

dunno. I don't have magic ears - can't hear the difference between 24bit 48kHz PCM and 320k CBR MP3.

 

But I do hear when something is 128k or even 64k MP3.

 

and this is not that.

 

here's a plot from the 320k rip fwiw.

I don't know much about how to see the original encoding settings from a plot like this.

but there's high frequency things in there which probably would not be present in a 64k thing.

the live stream was very low quality, could clearly hear compression artifacts. can't hear em here.

it's the best we have, folks, and it doesn't sound bad.
