what are your thoughts on the Pita record?

Not something that totally shook up my perspective on who he is and what he does, and not something to top Get Down, but it's a nice sort of older/wiser refinement where stuff is pretty easily listenable (note: my perspective may be a bit warped on that) without becoming overly focused on just "pretty" sounds. But then the parts that are pretty do it very well (Line Angel, Mfbk). But I would go numb to that if there wasn't also stuff like the moody progression of timbre on Aahn. It's good stuff.

it's interesting to hear Pita music nowadays, with late-period Autechre kind of scratching that itch (wild frequency juxtapositions, novel timbres, electro-Klangfarbenmelodie) that was created by the late 90s MEGO albums (Pita, Farmer's Manual, Fennesz et al).. it felt like MEGO kind of petered out in the mid 00s, or slacked on a promise for regular cutting edge electronic music activity/releases. though there's still good stuff here and there. excited to hear the KFW and Zauberberg (Mathieu et al)

That reminds me, from this year, Norbert Möslang / Ilia Belorukov / Kurt Liedwart - sale_interiora, that's a good one too. https://mikroton.bandcamp.com/album/sale-interiora

The Ecotone album is excellent. The sample (opening) track isn't a very good representation of the rest of the album... there are a lot of sharp, ultra-crystalline sounds (reminding me of Autechre), and some dense rhythmic and percussive chop. The "Repercussion" track is mighty good. I only bring it up because the of the general activity, the quality of sounds, and their interplay is fantastic.

The Ecotone album is excellent.

Finally got around to listening to this and damn, yeah that was excellent. Didn't realize that other dude was the drummer for Radian, really enjoyed what he brought to the table.

Not much to add to my original post of Skee Mask, Dj Metatron and Radiohead, apart from the mighty Death Grips beast of an album Bottomless Pit which zooms straight into the top spot at number one. This album I'm currently in awe of.

Definitely a shout out out to Jega 1995.

I also can't stop playing I Exhale and Low Burn from Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future. Not sure about the rest of the album though 'cause I never get beyond those two tunes 'cause I'm convinced nothing therein can beat 'em!

And tie me to a stake and burn me, 'cause I still haven't found a spare £35 for Elseq. Soon...

Love AS and this kind of sonic aesthetics. I'd highly, highly recommend:

- Antwood - Virtuous.scr

- WWWINGS - PHOENIXXX

- v1984 - Becoming N(one)

- everything on Lee Gamble's label UIQ (Lee Gamble, Zuli, N1L, Lanark Artefax)

- oh and of course, JG Biberkopf's Ecologies on KNIVES. Can't wait for his LP.

- and PAN's catalogue is also worth investigating.
