First full album of original material since 2013's The Terror.

Sounds nice, but also sounds a hell of a lot like a lot of their stuff from this century. I know a band can't go on reinventing themselves forever, but I was a bit underwhelmed.

war with the mystics is definitely patchy (crap at times) but has some good moments. i 4 1 enjoyed embryonic and the terror !!

I thought Mystics was the last solid release, past two albums have been too samey brick walled psych rock.

All of them since Yoshimi have had their moments, but I've not found any of them satisfying as albums. Which is a shame because Hit to Death in the Future Head is the only one of their first ten albums I don't love.

I thought the terror was fantastic. Mystics and embryonic were bloated and mix-matched imo. like a collection of songs. the terror was cohesive and minimal in a smart way.

 

agree this sounds like more of the same, but it sounds good.

The Terror has that Butterfly song which I liked quite a bit.

They were really bland on Jimmy Fallon, the two new drummers, I dunno. The last guy was tough to beat.
