Welcome To Our Latest Site Feature - Blogs!

    By Joyrex

As mentioned previously, I've added blogs to the site as a way for music makers to better share their latest creations, get feedback, and promote their music here on WATMM. Now, you can of course blog about anything you like, but the impetus was for our music-making members to have a powerful promotion tool on the site.   More to come when I have the time, along with details about how you can get a blog here on WATMM as well!

I bought a pair of jeans the other day

Now to you regular everyday semi-sentient types, who's purchases of clothing generally go with the flow, this may not seem such an unusual thing. Something like the following may come into your mind, "Big whoop dleetr, i've got several in my closet, several on my floor and have just donated an whole mess of my old pairs to the salvation army".   But to me this is a watershed, i never wear jeans. How this state of affairs came about i can't recall. Perhaps it's because i didn't like the style,

hautlle's Top 10 Albums of 2010

That's right, it's that time of the year. Christmas is 9 days away now, and the end of 2010 is upon us. I've had a really good year, both personally and musically. I'm one year closer to finishing school. I had my first music released by an entity other than myself, and I've made many new friends and acquaintances. Of course, what would my year have been without the music that filled and enriched it? Not quite the same in my opinion, and I'm sure you agreed; We all create our own soundtra

Early Fall/Late Summer Update

(Warning: All the pictures attached are full size and quite large. Beware if you click!)   Alright, once again it's been a while since the last update. The previous update was during the summer and here we are back to classes with the weather cooling down. The end of my summer was great. I went on a two week journey that spanned five states. I was a student in a class called Geology 360 Field Investigation. We spent two weeks traveling looking at rock outcrops and learning about the even

destination subconscious: cary grant and LSD

reprinted from the excellent destination subconscious blog   I knew Cary Grant very well and he loved ... what did they call it? Acid! LSD. He said he liked to take the trip." - Debbie Reynolds   "I learned many things in the quiet of that room ... I learned that everything is or becomes its own opposite ... You know, we are all unconsciously holding our anus. In one LSD dream ... I imagined myself as a giant penis launching off from earth like a spaceship." - Cary Grant   It was 1943. Car

frank sinatra has a cold

by guy talese. esquire magazine, april 1966:   In the winter of 1965, writer Gay Talese arrived in Los Angeles with an assignment from Esquire to profile Frank Sinatra. The legendary singer was approaching fifty, under the weather, out of sorts, and unwilling to be interviewed. So Talese remained in L.A., hoping Sinatra might recover and reconsider, and he began talking to many of the people around Sinatra -- his friends, his associates, his family, his countless hangers-on -- and observing th

My problem with finishing tracks Pt. 1

I have quite a few tracks that I have started throughout the years, that I am quite proud of. The only problem is, I haven't been able to finish them. There are a number of reasons for this, but it's usually not knowing where to take the track, not to mention being a perfectionist at times. So I end up saving the track in a folder with loads of other unfinished tracks and in the back of my mind I tell myself one day that I will finish it.   This rarely happens, but I did finish one or two tra

It's Summer...

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. summer classes, work, and trying to enjoy the summer with my friends have all kept me occupied.   I've been writing new tracks, and meeting a lot of new people that love electronic music, both far and abroad. This place has definitely been a big component of that, but I've also started meeting quite a few new local people. This has led to some collaborations, and jams with new people which is always interesting. Getting some new input on the things you'r
