My Dry Wet Mess — Stereo Typing BFDNL035 Released 12/11/2012 Stereo Typing is the sum of the parts of a journey. Giovanni Civitenga, aka My Dry Wet Mess, composed his forthcoming album for Brainfeeder over a 15 month period (November ‘10 through January ‘12), between Barcelona and Berlin, in four different houses. And out of the many changes and different chapters, comes a densely layered body of work that - despite being a product of transition - stands as his most grounded and resolved work yet. The title derived, My Dry Wet Mess explains, “from the concept of typing for the stereo field, as in writing narration through sounds. Writing a story as a writer wou…

Surprised not to find a thread about this unless WATMM search is failing me as usual? Out now. Sounds good, in line with the rest of Tri Angle's recent output.

"Mr. Weatherall requires no introduction if you're over the age of 25 and have even a passing interest in club music. For everyone else he's the guy behind Primal Scream's definitive '90s LP 'Screamadelica' and one of the most respected wax collectors in the world. For his 'Masterpiece' he draws for no less than six of his own remixes out of 12 on offer. They include his chugging overhauls of Grinderman, The Horrors, Wooden Shjips, and the aforementioned Primals, plus a strolling pace rework of Timothy J Fairplay and a Big Beat Rockers remix of Toddla T & Roots Manuva's 'Watch Me Dance'. Complementing these are fine cuts from Walls, Ajello, Kaspar Bjørke, A.R. Kane an…

I did a search and didn't already see a thread for this. Has anyone else checked this out? I downloaded a copy with some leftover iTunes giftcard money simply because everything I've gotten from Editions Mego lately has rocked (not counting my misguided purchase of Hecker's "Speculative Solution"; as a real student of academic philosophy, I was kinda annoyed--I appreciated the concept, but the execution was annoying). Anyway, "Off / On" is great. It's very much in the vein of '80s PBS documentaries, which was just before Brian Greene got involved and documentaries started to suck. In some ways, it strikes me as belonging on a playlist between some Advisory Circl…

"On 5 March in the US and a yet to be determined release date in the UK, the collection of 12 previously unreleased recordings by Jimi Hendrix will see light of day. People, Hell & Angels follows Hendrix in 1968 and 1969 as he works on material apart from the Jimi Hendrix Experience and suggests new, experimental directions. ... Hendrix toys with horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar, exploring fresh diversions from his legendary guitar work." jimi hendrix http://www.jimihendr...d-rolling-stone bbc http://www.bbc.co.uk...t-arts-20443218

http://www.touchmusi...vaya_zemly.html "CD - jewel case + booklet - 3 tracks - 36:36 Artwork & Photography by Jon Wozencroft Mastered by Denis Blackham Track Listing: 1. Novaya Zemlya 1 2. Novaya Zemlya 2 3. Novaya Zemlya 3 The artwork, by Jon Wozencroft, includes an essay by Thierry Charollais, "Thomas Köner's Novaya Zemlya: towards a metaphysical geography"... "Of course we find the unique Koneresque glowing drones that we know from his previous works. But we will also be touched by an unrevealed, barely perceptible sense of melody and harmony that Köner gradually developed since Kaamos (1998) and Nuuk (2004)." Novaya Zemlya (Russian: Но́вая …

Contemporary Vision - Light

http://contemporaryvision.bandcamp.com/album/light With a forward thinking retro-futuristic outlook, Contemporary Vision puts synth, electro, techno and dubstep together at last. 'Forced' being a positive perspective with glassy synths and electro rhythms, growing darker as dub elements emerge. 'Light' starts off with swapping bass lines, developing towards an intriguing synth section. 'Looking Past' has been described by listeners as a modern bass track with hints of the 90's; while 'Swag' puts modern electro and synth work to action.
