Cevin Key teamed up with the 2 dudes from Frontline Assembly to make a follow up to a side-project from 1991. It's very fun, aside from some madlib industrial lyrics here and there. More info here: https://cyberaktif.bandcamp.com/album/endgame

i know nothing about this artist - but peak oil is cool little label that released the INCREDIBLE topdown dialectic releases. and the samples sounded great. Peak Oil is proud to present Invariant, the first LP in three years from Russia’s best kept electronic music secret: Hoavi. Originally intended for pre-pandemic release, this collection of emotive and intricate homages to the slippery nature of genre has only intensified in relevancy and urgency. From alt sci-fi dimension floor-filler “Streamline” to “Dver”, a contemplative evocation of a world in which time collapsed in on itself and liquid had embraced footwork, to the propulsive modular dub-tech evis…

Unfortunately this is an expensive vinyl-only release, on Sound Synthesis' Wave Function; Gimmik's track remixed by MOY, Naqara, Sound Synthesis, and Gimmik themselves. Recommended with vinyl-only prejudice. Igloo released an article about the release, but withdrew it - I got a text copy before that, see below. Now the article is back.

https://www.nts.live/incoming/european-primitive-guitar NTS presents European Primitive Guitar, a compilation of instrumental guitar compositions, mapping out the European analogues of the American Primitive Guitar movement, spearheaded by John Fahey in the 1950s. Released physically and digitally on January 26 2024, European Primitive Guitar spans works directly influenced by and responding to Fahey’s approach to composition, alongside works by artists that arrived at similar conclusions independently. The music is, at once, both starkly traditional and contemporary. -- Been listening to this for the last few days and have been really enjoying this co…

LA Synthesis is on Bandcamp. This was released in March, but there's nothing else (as of yet). Hopefully they get the material that's on Beatport to Bandcamp. If you've never heard this before, you need to: It's from 1994, remastered and re-released on @Detuned in 2015 with a handful of amazing-as-heck remixes from Plaid, Ian O'Brien, Terrace, ADJ and Carl Finlow; the original track is simply eternal, it doesn't get old - I've been caning it for 25+ years. You should also check out their 1996 album, Matrix Surfer on Shield Records (a great label, too, check out everything - especially Mauler's [Fabrice Lig] PGM 100).

First new proper album since Sacrifices in 2018? I haven't listened to any of his sample collections since, or Fudge Beats, but I'm always curious. Single sounds nice, quite post rock-ish in a Tortoise way. Out on Lex Records March 22. 01 “Forever Chase (Scene One)” 02 “A Lord Without Jewels” 03 “Clean Up Scene Apprentice” 04 “The End Of Air” 05 “She Needs No Introduction” 06 “Onboard, Overboard” 07 “Fare La Corna” 08 “Full Recollection” 09 “Lullabies And Awakenings” 10 “Empath Lords” 11 “Desperate Demise” 12 “Wrong Suspect” https://prefuse73.bandcamp.com/album/new-strategies-for-modern-crime-vol-1 h…
