I don't know if Jaffa posts here but he used to post on Xltronic I recall. Anyhow I thought I'd do him a favour and post this tune he did and any other good ones from him because I believe you guys need to hear this stuff. This one is so good. Hello everyone! This is a set of tunes I've been working on for most of the last year. I was thinking it works together as an album. I'm still kind of on the fence of releasing it though, so I figured I'd post it here before getting it up on Spotify or Bandcamp. The name is up for review. Here's a new song I'm working on. It's sort of like manically glitched-out, instrumental pop music. I fed a mono mix of all the tracks into a vocoder that's playing the same base notes as the main chord progression and use that as an effect at times. I never know what to do with cartoon music like this. I feel like it could have lyrics on top of it but I don't want to add any. What do you think? so... we've been sitting on this for a while now. 'spectral gates' are a sydney-based rave/doom/math two-piece. albums #1-#3 have had a bunch of local radio play and some spotify - album #4 comes out early 2022. this one is a rolling linear live rhythm freakout over an 0coast and a pocket operator beat. steve (the drummer) told me there's a 13 in the time signature. i couldn't figure out where the 1 was though, so it doesn't matter. lots of home-made DSP (delays, mostly) in here as well. we've been writing software for a much more elaborate video clip for a more conventional lead track from the forthcoming album, but we were burning out on that so we smashe…

This is a recording for a noise stream I performed at just before new years. Its free download / stream or you can pay me if you really want to.... I was experimenting with new live sampling / looping and layering ideas, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. This was all created in one take with synths, pedals and my home made instruments. Some of these ideas might be taken forward to my next EP. As always, happy to hear any feedback if you get a chance to listen! Also, you can watch the stream of the performance here.
