Vibert radio interview 2004
by Guest Betty- 3 replies

I was in the downloads yesterday and I got the Triple J interview with the live DJ set, I had previously assumed that this was the same as what I had recorded off the local radio back then. However, it turns out that this is a different Triple J interview and live set to that, so I'm offering it up here to be included in the downloads section (does CATS do that anymore!?). The 20 minute live set excerpt features Aphex and Vibert mixing/jamming over each other with their laptops synced up.

The dreaded term... DOWNTEMPO
by Guest AOOproductions- 16 replies
- 1.7k views
Surely much of Luke's non Acid and D n' B work can be characterized as downtempo. But for some reason no one ever calls his work this. I bet (for better or worse), if this label had been placed on him he would have been known by many of the same fans who like thievery and K&D and sold a shit ton more records. Of course I wouldn't have it another way. Just an observation.

space mist

ok so, rodulate was made years ago and released 2008 etc. i have a question and an observation about this - does anyone know to what extent the tracks were re-produced/re-mastered since being originally made? i ask cos i commented to a mate the other night that for a track made over 15 years ago 'space mist' is pretty indicative of the dubstep movement to my mind; reliance on deep, powerful and constant bass with little licks over the top and so forth (cos we all love dubstep :innocent: ). and he claimed the sounds on space mist couldn't have been made so back 15 years ago... what does anyone reckon? either way it's objectively a completely sweet track

I'll admit, I've never really heard his stuff. Unless he did that Plug Remix of The Perfect Drug. I recall hearing once that it was. Is that him? That song rocks.

this track is sick. sure it sticks out just a liittle bit on an album otherwise overloaded with various acid tunes, but that aside, it's a groovy 8bit-y tune and i'd love to hear more in this style. RIGHT BOYS!? right.
