plaid Should The Black Dog (In it's Current Incarnation) be Featured In This Subforum? 1 2
by Joyrex- 43 replies

SPD brought up the idea of having a The Black Dog subforum, and while I haven't personally checked out their current work, I thought since they were the progenitors of Plaid, perhaps rather than feature them in their own subforum, we 'add' them to this subforum since there is some overlap. Have you say and vote, and let's see where this goes...

plaid early black dog/plaid & acid 1 2 3

listening to some early black dog/black dog productions tunes i noticed their occasional acid was quite good and came adequate to their style. unfortunately black dog acid is quite rare in their whole work, but there are two i especially love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBxfayFy6ls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r8Tq5HSPow curiously, they are both my favorite from Bytes and Spanners, respectively. psil-cosyin from 7:30 goes pure acidgasm. there is an acid mix of the track Merck (Bytes) in the bootleg that boredrom uploaded to watmm, some months ago. it's about 15 minutes and kicks ass as well: http://soundcloud.com/user4787471/merck-acidmix the…

P-Brane is my favourite Plaid release, if you take them as a whole. I feel it has the best flow as a whole and all the tracks are excellent. I would love to hear more like that, and I really hoped when it came out that Plaid were going to go more in that direction. I liked Spokes a lot, but several tracks on it really don't do anything for me. There isn't a Plaid release that I dislike, nor even a track really, just a bunch that don't appeal at all. They're not bad, maybe just boring to me. P-Brane just really sticks out.

Is now all over the internet if you look for it, so what are peoples opinions on it? Takeshita Street and Toyko Drive are instantly good for me!

plaid anyone have any info on this plaid mix?
by Guest xpress- 14 replies

Does anyone else have the London Xpress mix by Plaid? Not the one that features some Plaid song mixed by David Holmes, but the one that according to the mp3s was mixed my Plaid themselves? The file names are PLAID - London Xpress (29-july-2001), there are some brilliant songs on these mixes but it seems very unlikely that a setlist exists anywhere on the internet. Anyone have any info on these?

Just came across this new Plaid remix that's coming out soon... sounding heavy with some pretty messed up beat structure. THE FEAR RATIO feat. plaid - morning blues.

plaid Balil: An Anthology
by Guest ruiagnelo- 21 replies
- 4.3k views
I have had this idea stored in my mind for quite some time now, and while listening to some Balil now, i am thinking it might be worth, at least, trying it. I don't like the idea of home made compilations, but i think that a Balil compilation, made from already released tunes, would be a hell of a sonic journey. Also, Balil is, next to Plaid, the most prolific alias of all the three old dogs. According to discogs, these have been released so far: Clinically Inclined (Remix) - (ART 1 E.P.) Jam Packed - (ART 1 E.P.) Nort Route (R&S Remix) - (ART 1 E.P.) Nort Route (Remix)- (ART 1 E.P.) Rosery Pilots (Parasight) Avidya (Parasight) Parasight (Par…
