http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=138534 Call me crazy, but I am actually a bigger fan of the work the band did in the Chuck years, so this is pretty big news for me. Most of the songs from this performance sound atrocious. However, "As The Worm Turns" is fucking gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvEy9tl_zwI&feature=player_embedded

Interesting documentary I stumbled upon Includes interviews with early electronic pioneers (kraftwerk, klaus schulze,...) so i'd reckon some people here would like to see this. Sorry if it's jazzband http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B89-69icyc part2: part3: part4: part5: part6: If you can't be bothered to watch it all, at least look at part 3 around 8:30 too look at Kraftwerk's first television performance, or part 6 where they claim that Brian Eno and David Bowie stole some ideas

Today's pop music is shit. "bands" like AttackAttack or Brokencyde or Teen Hearts "singers" like Lady Gaga or whoever the fuck it is that does that TikTok song. This is the kind of shit I have to not let my kid get into. Oh well, at least there's always keyboard cat. You know it's coming, but fuck is it ever good when you get there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca73OtjYzm8

Fact or publicity stunt? You decide. If it's true, I'm glad I can say I saw them live 3 or 4 times when I was a lad. RIP?

Just ran across this album and fuck it's great. Some pretty obvious Dilla influences and also a little reminiscent of the Avalanches' Since I Left You. But it's really well done. [youtubehd]i8inxj5Enrk[/youtubehd] I'd never heard of them before, but apparently they're French dudes with wicked sampler skills.

I thought I'd start a poll with a really, really tough choice. So here it is, in the red corner we have Quino - phec, the beautiful album closer to Surfing On Sine Waves. And in the blue corner, it's paralel suns, arguably one of the most relaxing songs Autechre have ever released. But which is better? There's only one way to find out... Here are 30 second samples for those who haven't heard both tracks: quino phec sample.mp3 paralel suns sample.mp3

Has anyone ever fired up their DAW and attempted to make a beat/tune that is dependant on the sounds they imagine in their head as a means to interpret what it actually sounds like?

i know he probably didn't approve of it but i think it's really tight to be able to get all of a producer's productions conveniently and for a reasonable price for example i love timbaland and i wanted everything he's ever produced but i didn't wanna buy it all or even download one-by-one so i found some mixes that encompass entirely all of his output since way back with devante swing and it is just so gratifying to be able to study an artist intensively that way

Just wondering about Mika Vainio after listening to his collaboration with Sean Booth, and having Kesto by Pan Sonic. I've looked him up but I'm not sure what to listen to. Not too into Kesto, but something about this guy interests me. How do you rate him, n what's best?
