non-album tracks on eps and singles
by Guest tht tne- 15 replies

this is one of the best things musicians can do: release eps or singles with tracks that aren't on the concurrent album i don't mean wack remixes like underworld have taken to doing recently... gotta be unreleased excellence by that artist it seems this occurs more frequently in british music and in our kind of electronic music in particular... feels good man

G Clarinet reeds (aka turkish clarinet)
by Guest Great Maker ShaiHulud- 2 replies

I seem to be having difficulty locating reeds for a G clarinet -- this leads me to believe you must be able to substitute some other instrument. I currently have a Bass Clarinet, and Alto Clarinet, a Tenor Saxophone, and a Baritone Sax, and corresponding reeds. Does anyone play the G Clarinet? ... I just bought one. also, I don't think it has the original cork -- is it very difficult to recork woodwinds? (I've never had to have it done, and my closest music shop went out of business)

really into kyle watson and wolfgang gartner. some of their tunes are absolute corkers on the dancefloor.. colourful, well produced, funky and importantly, fun! who else is into this style and got any other recommendations of stuff to listen to? must be loads of good stuff about.

i dont really know when and why i bought it. sadly, i lost it a few years ago when relocating. i want to have it again. what i recall is this: 1. cover was black writing on orange base 2. the title contained the following words: digital audio noise (maybe analog?)... i am pretty sure of the first 3... 3. tracks were very bleepy acidy raw stuff. 4. sadly, i dont recall any artist names or a label. heck, it might have been a test cd for a hifi components producer. any help very much appreciated! thanks in advance

What's the best one for getting non-mainstream music? I always buy my originals but would be interested in maybe getting something like Stone in Focus on mp3 or maybe other stuff that's not available in the shops. Thanks.

The disco thread got me to thinking more about the man. He is a fucking genius. I'd prefer any of his stuff over Kraftwerk, any day. Lets talk about the man... the music... the moustache. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E817rpX-PoU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OU7Hka_--U&feature=fvw <--- godfather of techno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6mclovd27E <--- my favorite of his collaborations http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MccmHwA-c4U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDk6bH_bJm4 <--- early shit from '69!

Autechre Recommend me some chiptunes
by Guest SecondaryCell- 6 replies
Kaini's thread about the super-modded C64 has given me the bug to dive into chiptunes created with the C64, Atari ST, and Amiga computers. I began searching and discovered that there are millions of them... I don't know where to start. Who would you suggest is the Aphex Twin, Autechre, and BOC of chiptunes? No emulations please... only tracks done entirely in the vintage machines.
