Okay, there's gotta be some tunes you don't really want people noticing as they scroll through your collection. First up for me is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvLnt-upfzQ

So what do you guys think of Fred Again..? He hasn't gained a lot of traction on this forum yet, but he's been gaining massive popularity these past months/ years. I personally really enjoy his stuff so I thought why not make a thread on him, although I do think a lot of you guys are going to find him mainstream crap. I also usually am not a fan of the mainstream producers but what sets this guy apart is that imo he creates a really nice emotional experience throughout his albums documenting life during the pandemic. And the Four tet/ Skrillex collabs are amazing of course. His livesets are insane as well He also has an ambient album out now on Four Tets label …

Since we have a few Zombies on here, thought it about time we have a MBM club. Something to start things off right: http://cratedigging.co/10/11407/rchecka_-_jacked__a_meat_beat_manifesto_dj_mix_?fbclid=IwAR17LJJYVnULsi8ukBjKvcxZOiQRo2Kuey5wHfI98ahT1A1Mbp4tZzO130g

yes, this thread is going to annoy the hell out of a lot of you elitist freaks, so here it goes! industrial music.... dub music........ Basslines that make the weak-willed faint........ innovated by the drummer from Napalm Death........ the tracks 'Angels' by Vex'd and Toasty Boy....two amazing yet completely different tracks with the same name......... Sin City being the most sampled film ever in one genre...... these are some of my favorite things about this music..... and listening to it really loud! Don't be a hater, smoke a reefer and jam out with me...... Man....... Guy....... listen to Rob 7 by Darqw…

Who's the person behind zvλd? I was listening to a lot of the stuff on the soundcloud that's up and really, really liked the tracks I heard, almost more so than a good deal of tunes coming out lately. Reminded me of little bits of loads of artists but arranged and done so by someone who knows what the fuck they are doing. https://soundcloud.com/occult-research/3v8zzzdg0hdk https://soundcloud.com/zvld/0hgpahdiwygn https://soundcloud.com/zvld/go-placid https://soundcloud.com/zvld/regen https://soundcloud.com/zvld/haunt https://soundcloud.com/zvld/waerd Anyone got a clue on this one? Either way, it's great tunes - give the soundcloud a listen too, there's lots o…

Discussion thread for music from all over the world. Ideally the thread should have an even distribution of music from various regions according to musical variety rather than language or borders. I'll start with some: Japan: Algeria:

in the past 20 years we've gone from the East Coast vs West Coast debacle, to Nicki Minaj vs Iggy Azalea, lol. It's a new century for sure, a lot more entertaining (we need a break from reality lite than ever as the earth descends into chaos) and a lot more lighthearted. It's a sexy rap war oooh! and leave it to women to bring it on, sweet.

We've had a few zine related threads in the past, but there is a resurgence of private press books coming out, so better to collate them all in one thread. We already have this thread with a pretty negative title and this other thread, but not a proper Footwork general thread. So yeah, a thread for posting old + new tracks sharing your stash of RP Boo unreleased tracks posting vids of dudes actually dancing to this stuff complaining that you still don't get it / footwork is shit and most of all asking for track IDs (the eternal struggle)

I stumbled across this mashup today and all I could think was "YOU GOT CHOCOLATE IN MY PEANUT BUTTER!" http://www.percussionlab.com/sets/hirnduebel/cold_rainbow_vein Anyone got any other good ones? I remember the Grey Album being okay. Also, Wugazi is quite fun.

I've wanted to do this thread for a while. Drone music has many faces, but often hard to find. I've never read anything in this forum about it, except for an old thread where the discussion was more focused into explaining the difference between ambient and drone instead of sharing rare and astonishing drone pieces. Would be great if this thread turns into a nice thing worthy of his pretentious title! I'll start showing what I mean with awesome drone music (in different styles) Classic: Less classic: Avant-garde: http://isakedberg.com/Λ.wav (fucking incredible) Anyone into this k…

It does seem as if this has had a few threads last year, yet I personally think it needs another revival. Here's two of my favorites right now. The soundtrack for 'Limbo' by Martin Stig Andersen.' http://limbogame.bandcamp.com/ It has a very Tim Hecker-esque feel to it, yet a lot calmer and more tranquil. In my opinion it's one of the most fitting soundtracks to a videogame ever. Seriously. Ever. But since the game itself is rather short, so is the soundtrack, which is a damn shame. I would have loved to have a physical release of the album included extended versions and extras. There's a video floating around somewhere (might be on Andersen's own…

I have this tendency of losing the first beat on more and more electronic tracks I listen to lately and it's bugging me. I know I'm off and sometimes I can get back on the 'one' or I just give up. Anyone else have this problem? Here are some prominent examples that have haunted me for years: Aphex 'Acrid Avid Jam Shred' - The one should be when the first closed hihat kicks in, but I'm always counting the first open hihat as the first beat of the bar. I can't shake it off and I feel I've always listened to this track incorrectly: http://youtu.be/YwZ_9V37KxA Plastikman 'Plasticity' - It's simple enough with the 808 congas. But when the 303 fades in, I get stuck on t…

This seems (and has always seemed) to be a relatively rare opinion, but I'm very fond of Gary Numan's Berserker, The Fury, and (to a lesser extent) Strange Charm albums – particular some of the B sides. Tracks like "Empty Bed, Empty Heart," "Here am I," "Anthem," and "The Fear" are probably my favorite works of his, and I return to them more often than I do his coveted 1979-1980 records. I find them to be especially good winter listening in the car. There are definitely elements that haven't dated well (slapped fretless bass, diva-esque backing vocals, jarring FM bell patches here and there), but I would say that The Fury is probably my favorite Numan record, and yes I kn…

I got to speak to Kevin Martin recently in advance of his gig in Dublin on Friday. Thought it may be of interest to some WATMMers. Unfortunately I stopped recording before his Aphex story. 😅 https://nialler9.com/meditation-and-provocation-a-conversation-with-the-bug/
