Just curious how most people here listen to music these days - for me, I find I do most of my music listening in the car via my phone/streaming...

Can anyone recommend some off the beaten path type electronic or experimental female artists worth checking out? maybe stuff like Xosar, Temple Ov Saturn, Denise Rabe, radiophonics, etc. 🙏

Noticed that there aren't really any JC-L threads on here so I thought I'd make one cause I find his music absolutely mesmerising (his In Summer EP and Songs of Forgiveness album in particular). - Does anyone have any his physicals or has anyone been to one of his shows?

Could you recommend me some good House Music? I loved the housy bits from Numbers Lucent, and there's this track on the new Vibert album that's called House Stabs and I really like it as well. So it would be swell if y'all were able to recommend me some! Thanks

The scores for: October Sky - a little repetitive Platoon - mostly just Samuel Barber's Adagio Up - gonna learn to play "The Ellie Badge" on the piano even if it's sappy. are all really good. Other films with good scores?

Front 242's Facebook & Instagram accounts report the JLDM has been hospitalized: Dear All, It is with great regret and sadness that Front 242 must cancel the 2 concerts of 01 and 02 April 2022 in Kortrijk De Kreun (Belgium). Our singer Jean-Luc De Meyer was hospitalized last night and his health is worrying. We are aware that all our fans were looking forward to this concert and we are all disappointed. Let's all keep our hearts with Jean-Luc. Front 242 There don't appear to be any further details in comments or elsewhere online yet. I hope that the "his health is worrying" bit isn't as ominous as it possibly …

just recently ive decided to explore the output of andrew weatherall. for some reson ive always put off really delving into his output, but ive been rectifying this error. how much did he have to do with primal screams 'screamadelica'? ive loved that album for ages.. his pop record from a couple of years ago is pure gold. the man can write a song.. from a youtube comment - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KykRCaQ_SB0 im finding the two lone swordsman stuff from the mid to late 90's to be his best 'idm' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtHKTxYZz2A his sabres of paradise related stuff is great too.. sometimes a bit too repetitive tho. but i love this …

I made a mix of all? Most? of the more chill/ambient remixes by Pritchard/Middleton. Sadly, it looks like “Remotion” is unlikely to ever see a reissue/expansion, so this will have to do, I guess… currently sitting at #2 in the Mixcloud Ambient chart.

I'm looking for any examples of noise music with overt use of gabber kicks, now obv there is stuff like making orange things but that feels like breakcore first and noise second imo. This is something I have always thought should exist but I didn't find any proper examples of until this week.. This whole album is mad but I nipped this bit in particular This track was what prompted me to go looking.. Those who made that track have made a single album which I uploaded and features some more of the same sound This is a milder example of the same idea.. also discovered off that compilation …

I was very surprised to find only a couple of mentions of this person across all of watmm.. maybe I searched wrong? Nwae.. I remember watching the videos originally uploaded on the IDMWEIGHTSIDM channel (2009/2010).. it had some very odd very interesting mixes with lots of tunes that I was unable to find at the time. This one in particular I remember was his most popular. I myself just got around to reuploading the couple of mixes I downloaded from back in the day. The channel I believe has been taken down multiple times, I seem to remember the 2nd channel got rather big before being taken down. Over t…

I got recommended this on Spotify. Never heard of it before, but it's great. Very old school Warp vibes. Perhaps I'm the only one getting to this late, but thought I'd share if not. https://apollorecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-album https://kalaharioystercult.bandcamp.com/album/sw-mydefinition-lp-oyster30

Due to being a monumental fuckwit I've only just discovered that I can stream radio onto my chromecast audios which I've owned for probably about 8 years now via google assistant (ive just been using them to stream local files this whole time). I've set up shortcuts for BBC 6, Rinse FM, NTS Live, (rinse and NTS come in via TuneIn) but so far that's it. What are some deece internet or traditional radio stations? Any good stations (with minimal adverts) focusing on jazz, dub/reggae, disco or funk/soul?

Just saw him perform last Friday at the London Contmporary Music Festival. Lush to see him return to his Multistability era after a good few years concentrating on more 'contemporary' and non-electronic stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTmKZS8yeHk Fuckin banging Fell is probably my fave electronic musician after the autocray m8s so I thought it would be nice to share tracks and enthusiasm towards his u n i q u e a e s t h e t i c Not erasing Mat Steel from history here. It's a shame he's not as much on t…

my guess is that because of the autechre collabs there have to be some fans/followers here. a few years ago i decided to make a commitment to really understand the essence this group (well, andrew mckenzie) and i have to say that for the most part ive been unsuccessful. best i can figure is that the works are intended to directly affect the listener in more than just an emotional/intellectual way. its like hes aiming for some kind of serious alteration of consciousness that can only be achieved if you fully engage with the work. that is, put as much work into experiencing the album as the creator did in making it. thats a tall order but also interesting in that it present…

Hello watmm. I have been toiling away with making my own zine, based on electronic musical things. I was looking for zines that talked about techno / idm / noisy musical bollocks but didnt find any, so I decided to start one. I am fairly happy with how issue 1 has turned out and I have had some positive feedback thus far, but I want to get more copies out to my target audience.... probably you lot. So the first bunch of people to send me their address will get a copy, regardless of worldwide location yo! PM please and I promise not to share your address with anyone (yada yada data privacy etc...) Brief synopsis:- …
