Not often I get the pleasure of introducing people to some new music when this forum is pretty ahead of the curve on that side of things, but I've not really seen anyone mention Yaporigami, a Japanese sort of noise techno artist who is producing great track after great track and nobody has mentioned him. Any fans of industrial would probably find themselves right at home here. Also fans of raster noton would probably dig, but take it on its own terms. Play loud with a great soundsystem. Allow me to introduce you: This track from his Jade Fib EP as you can tell has a pretty nifty video. This EP might be his most abrasive stuff, if the harsher elements ar…

I've been realising there's a Pan Sonic shaped hole in my music collection.. The only thing I have is Ostato and a few of Ilpo Vaisanen's solo CDs and enjoy them. But for some reason, I've never dug into the main Pan Sonic discography. I'm not sure why, I saw them live in 05 at a festival on an old boat and they were awesome. I'd be interested in recommendations for what releases I should consider next... any thoughts?

So I just picked this album up (for 5 bucks at a local record shop) and holy shit, it's awesome! I've heard it talked about here and there, but this deserves much more attention than it gets! It's fucking great. Why the hell do they not have any other stuff really? Why the hell aren't they mentioned more?

I've run into a problem I've never had before, there's a song that I can't find either digitally or physically MF Doom sampled it, it's from this But I want the full song, not the first couple of bars as sampled, or the song with the dialogue over the top I bought the Fat Albert Halloween Special vinyl, but it's just a straight rip from the cartoon, with the dialogue over the top Apparently it's by Ray Ellis, although according to imdb who can help me? Find me the whole clean song and I'll give you money It also made me interested in other songs that are so hard to find, but must exist

I've Been Digging into Kenny Larkin's old Discography, and re-listening to the Expanded Deluxe Metaphor Download I got from Bleep I found: https://bleep.com/release/223481-kenny-larkin-metaphor-expanded-edition A: that the track they have in the DL for "Loop 1.5" is the same as "Loop 2," three tracks later, it should be: https://aboveboardprojects.bandcamp.com/track/loop-15 (The Bleep Webplayer plays the correct track, but their DL file is an *8 second shorter "Loop 2") B: the track they have listed as "Catatonic (Part 2) - 8:52" most definitely is not either "Catatonic (Part 2) - 5:28" that was exclusive to the Original '95 R&S Vinyl Pressi…

I imagine for most WATMMers he needs no introduction. The guy is ridiculously talented to a fault. I don't think I've ever found an artist who I consistently like as much as him. Post any music by him you dig! Though I am personally looking for kind of rare tracks I haven't heard yet. Two of my favorites from more recently though I imagine most people have already heard these: And some older stuff:

Ryuichi Sakamoto, Oscar-Winning Japanese Composer, Dies at 71 Mr. Sakamoto, whose work with Yellow Magic Orchestra influenced electronic music, composed scores for “The Last Emperor” and “The Revenant.” Great talent. Big loss. A long and interesting career and a huge back-catalogue of audio treasures.

So, except for this thread I couldn't find much appreciation for such a pioneering band, I do not know much about them except that I love Loh Land, Mohnomische and especially Assault and Mirage with all of my heart: They also run the radio show "A Duck in a Tree" since 2012 (edit: with 219 editions!), which has helped me discover some incredible music... Please enlighten me on other works of theirs, and appreciate the sounds

Remember that guy? He was quite tall. When I was properly getting into the whole IDM thing he was boshing out 3 albums a year. I really liked maybe 2 or 3 of them at the time but it was a little much output for me and I fell out of love with it pretty fast. I've been browsing Spotify today and dipped into a few tracks of his I used to enjoy and noticed he hasn't released an album in five years. What happened? Did he run out of ideas finally? 24 albums isn't a bad innings so I wouldn't blame him for not having anything new. I did a google and it seems like he tweeted about having run out of money or something. I hope he has money though and I hope it means he has been…

I was curious how you all felt about using presets, especially on the more complicated synth plugins? I have had fun in the past building sounds from scratch, but in something like Massive, there's a million different permutations, and sometimes, other people have already made interesting presets on there - I think if I were to use them, it would be as a starting point, and then I would try to understand what is interesting about the sound and how I want to tweak it, but how do you all feel about using presets? Is it something you do in your own process? For something like the very basic FM plugins, I like to make my own, since it's a lot of fun - but when something …

Given the scope of threads here, ie artists, styles, chronologies, discographies, documentaries, etc, what are your favourite sounds from the fair city of Detroit? Starters... Ann Arbor is close enough

Alright WATMM..... We've been chatting in CHATMM and decided this thread should be dedicated to knowledge about Mattias Ostling and all of his aliases releases. There is no information about him on discogs, and his releases are scattered amongst many aliases and many different webpages. The ultimate goal of this thread is to get a reasonably accurate list of his aliases and releases under said aliases, and translate this over to discogs so that he may get more recognition. Dirqual - Sonic S&M Meltdown (2002) Neurophastic - Mi12Promo1 (2002) Crossdaddy Bonebags - Crossdaddy Bonebags (2002) Dirqual - Farm Sluts Gone Wild (2003) Dirqual - Toler…
