So I like Burial and El-B a lot, but I'm looking to listen to some other "U.K. garage" artists. Are there any good entire albums out there, as opposed to single tracks and 12"'s? I'll settle for 12"'s and EPs, man I'll settle for single tracks, whatever's out there. Much appreciated.

The concept of this totally serious thread is simple: post music that you are NOT currently listening to, it doesn't have to be good or bad, you just have to not be listening to it. Here's mine: If you listen to the track, you have to come back and delete the post, and then repost it when the track ends.

Since I'm still on a Renoise bender I went looking for good, fun breakcore and couldn't really find any. Anyone have suggestions? Here's something along the lines of what I'm looking for:

Hey y’all. Apparently “9:25” from Global Communication’s 76:14 started life as a remix of a Sun Electric song, that was rejected for release, so Mark and Tom made it it’s own thing. Any Sun Electric fans have a guess at which song it might have been? (Circa ‘93/‘94)…

Pretty self-explanatory question, but I was curious what you would say, if forced, what your higher values are in music creation. I realise it's like one of those "would you rather" questions, and probably most of you would say some mixture of both, but - gun to your head - which would you choose?

https://pitchfork.com/news/stars-of-the-lids-brian-mcbride-dies-at-53/ Never take an artist's work for granted as any album can be their last. SoTL have released some of my favorite music and, while we still have Adam Wiltzie working in the 'A Winged Victory For The Sullen' project, there is a decadence in the SoTL records: a willingness to let a single relatively raw idea simmer and float for a long time in a way that feels relatively unrestrained compared to Winged Victory. I'm forever indebted. RIP

Sometimes I have this experience when a piece of music just "clicks", meaning it suddenly makes sense in a way, im able to perceive emotion in it more clearly, and it feels like a unified thing with more meaning than before it clicked. While browsing online forums I've seen this phenomenon mentioned by a fair amount of other people, expecially with respect the music of artists like autechre, aphex twin, etc. One thing I haven't seen is any discussion of why this happens. So if you have any theories about how this whole thing works, I'd like to hear your opinion.

So who here listens to Hecq? Recently discovered him thanks to a post in a thread about dubstep, although I was delighted to discover that the majority of his back-catalog is pure IDM goodness. The new album 'Avenger' is pretty good, and as far as dubstep goes it has the advantage of not reminding me of kandi kids and glowsticks and shit, but I feel like it might get slightly stale as time goes on. I'm referring more to his earlier works. So far I've really settled on the album Bad Karma, as well as a handful of the tracks off of 0000 and Scatterheart. Unfortunately I can't find much of his stuff from Bad Karma on youtube, but that whole album is pretty fucking ac…

I've been digging this era of Tangerine Dream lately, the soundtracky 80s stuff from Exit onwards. (Not that I've heard that much of what came before, really only Phaedra and Rubycon, but I've read that Exit marked the shift in their style.) Their tracks on the Risky Business soundtrack are some of my absolute favorite Tangerine Dream, and I was about to go buy a copy but then saw this in the Wikipedia article: Is there any truth to this, specifically that the original/longer versions were not only previously recorded but also released, and if so: which release(s) are they on?

Hello. So yesterday I went to a party and had fun, but I noticed that the music from the DJs (which weren't bad) wasn't violent enough for me to have an epileptic dance as I like. So I decided to become a DJ to do provide exactly that—music to make people as crazy as possible and solve this issue. That's why I'm looking for music with intricate, violent sounds—could be IDM, techno, noise, etc. or something similar, but I need it powerful. Some examples (honestly I don't really know how to describe "ultraviolent" electronic music, but these come to mind): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm5CHeajoFQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQnVto2-N6Q h…

What's your fav krautrock? I'm not an expert on this subject but that's why I'm asking. I want to hear your favorite stuff. I love this: some of my fav tracks anyway.

Does anyone have a good faith interpretation of this thing that popped up on Facebook?? Who would make such a thing and why? It seems weird to say that everyone orbits kraftwerk.. but I often hear them mentioned as the originators of electronic music - but wasn't the radiophonic workshop doing stuff before that.. I don't know much of the history. Any good documentaries about that? Obviously Aphex would be orbiting about 20 other suns, and be knocked slightly off-axis by hundreds of passing mini-planets... As would everyone else probably... It's pretty cringeworthy obviously but how would you revise it? What's wrong with it, what's right?

I love their music so much, but they seemed to disappear as quickly as they appeared. I miss this music. At least we have that one LP. Anyone know what happened, or if there are some side projects or whatever?

Anyone else a fan? Been loving the album "love is real". Love the lo-fi, synth based, weirdness of it all. Wish I could find more like it. Anyone else in the same mold worth checking out? Meanwhile just appreciate: "Times is weird" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYFAcPS6HgE "Do your best" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDOMk_pGacA My whole world's coming apart" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReQXQ3E4ztE
