it was a black and white picture with what looked like the majority of the rephlex crew. everybody was in what seemed to be a pub or someplace posing. had all famous artists and the obscure ones too. it would be great to see the picture again...

Interesting clip of Mad Mike Banks, talking about James Stinson, the relationship with Rephlex Records and folklore about ED DMX. Worth watching the whole thing though, it's mint. Skip to 1.23.03 for the Rephlex and Drexciya info.

Hello! Just registered to forum so I could share a playlist of all Rephlex releases available on Spotify. That's maybe 1/5 of all releases & a bit heavy on Cylob at the moment ;) Let's hope more Rephlex stuff appear on Spotify. Let me know if there's something missing! Many tracks are hand-picked from other releases, for example Drexciya 3 - Molecular Enhancement appears on 3 separate Clone reissue volumes. And there aren't that many complete releases available. Been digging into DMX Krew's ridiculously large discography and came across an album called Polypipe that I'm not finding on Discogs... Does anyone have info on what this is? It definitely has "That 80's" sound but is lacking the usual booty beats of the other releases... It's got a very new agey/Ladyhawke Soundtrack feel to it. Is this a legit EDMX release or did someone put out a "fake"?

This is something I've been wondering a long time and thought to finally get my hands into. So if someone has done the tracklist for the Innovations in the dynamics of acid mix please post it here. Would be cool if I could finally edit the metadata of the files to correspond the original vinyl tracks. So what I'm after is the names of the tracks or colour+track number. You don't have to dig them yourself though if you haven't got them ready, I will try to sort them out myself. Only thought to ask here first to spare some effort. Google nor Discogs didn't give me anything.

Pretty pricey, but it's remastered on double vinyl & does include a new instrumental version and DL code. A classic. https://www.normanrecords.com/records/115637-dmx-krew-nu-romantix

In the early 2000s, probably 2001-2002 I was in contact with JP Buckle of former Rephlex fame and he mailed me a CDR of demo tracks. I just found it today and ripped it to FLAC and uploaded it for your listening. Enjoy ! https://db.tt/JitXigOm I forgot to add the artwork (there was none so I took a pic of the CDR) so it's attached

Hi, Announcing it here on WATMM first. I'm sitting here now listening to the acetate of 1 of our 2 upcoming releases: a vinyl reissue of D'Arcangelo's 1996 EP on Rephlex. It's a real honour to be reissuing this masterpiece - honestly it was one of the key releases that inspired me to start Suction Records in 1997, and one of our earliest releases was a split 7" between D'Arcangelo and myself, Solvent. This will likely be coming out in May, alongside our 3rd vinyl release by RX-101, "EP 3"... If you haven't checked out the RX-101 releases so far, you most definitely should if you're a fan of early AFX/Rephlex, with sounds ranging from SAW1 style warm electro/techno…

So recently I rediscovered this box of old PC games, including one of my faves from that time: Tank Racer (from 1999), which got me looking up a gameplay video of it to see why on earth I liked that game (well, tanks with guns on speed, obviously) and suddenly saw this: Of course I wondered if there was any involvement from Rephlex in the game but that's not the case. According to Netlabel Archive the guy designing the game (and who was on the same label that did the soundtrack, producing under the name 3818919/w) was just a 'massive braindance fan' and decided to stick Rephlex logos all over the game. https://netlabelarchive.org/netlabels/monotonik/tank-racer-ost…

Fabrizio originally gave this to me after I had been asking after some old Automia Division vinyls and couldnt turn any up. He said that he had been sharing it and seeding it on soulseek and was all good with distributing it for free. I noticed some interest here so I put it up for download. I tried reaching F/M again and couldnt but given they already put it in the public domain for free I'm just going to assume it's OK. If i hear otherwise i'll have to pull it down. This includes I believe everything they did up until the early 00s, so it's got all the ASU, Automia Division, Centuria City, Intermolecular Forces and other pseudonyms they released as. Really excellen…

not sure if im duplicating a previous thread, but i was looking at some 'phlex slipmatts i have and started wondering where some of their symbols come from (eg their logo) or mean, as well as other stuff thats been rendered on various media over the years. for instance, what exactly is the rephlex logo supposed to be ? any ideas what it means? i used to see it as some sort of sun or other type of star but other times as a ship. i also wonder where some of the mech robot stuff came from or if it was original artwork. for instance on these slipmatts there is a giant (what appears to be) robot battling another. then in my sig, the japanime characters (which i s…

Been thinking recently of what legacy Rephlex will leave in the digital 21st Century. Looking back, was it a mistake not to put their releases up on bleep, or integrate with Planet Mu's digital store? I realize, independence was very important to Richard and Grant, and probly still is, but at what cost. Bandcamp came around just a little too late to offer a viable platform, but I cannot think of too many 100% independently run digital storefronts that rival the influence Rephlex exuded for over 20 years. fsoldigital runs a tight ship on their own, but they also make their releases available on other store like iTunes. I realize Rephlex would have never endorsed that, …

fuck how good is this shit? i havent listened to it in probably 15 years and it sounds soooo lush. like a whole world of braindance that i forgot about, the childish playfulness of it, headfuck melodies and lush bits...definitely warrants further exploration into the back catalogue. i enjoy this much more than his newer colundi efforts and although they are musically more mature and even somewhat academic, the spirit is a bit lost in comparison. bogdan is a bit the same way, like very playful like, totaly unembarrased. have you rediscovered anything lately on phlex? prolly another thread for this but oh well

D'Arcangelo is dumping a bunch of unreleased tunes on Soundcloud as well. They told me it wouldn't be nearly the quantity that Richard is dumping, but still! https://soundcloud.com/darcangelo

Dunno if this should be in the Aphex Subforum or Music Discussion, since we're talking about Dredd. It seems like every source I've found has a differing tracklist for Universal Indicator Yellow. Does anyone have info on what the correct track lengths, track order, and speeds/rpm should be? Audio examples would be nice. I swear I've heard 5 different versions of TARDIS over the years. Lovingly Yours, Murveman
