hmm, so i decided i want to watch any good films that involve some kind of mental disorder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_featuring_mental_disorders had a look at this list. which seems to be lacking stuff. lost highway.. ferris bueller's day off.. probably many more. it has some medium-level shit like the jacket and the machinist. ended up watching Manic which was ok. about to watch Hesher and Sucker Punch, which i have feel won't be that great. but yeah, list your favourite ones. doesn't matter how obvious. edit: oh yeah, there was a british TV drama set in a mental institution. i saw when it aired, at some point in my teens. anyone…

I've got a blog on blogspot, and I've got a website with a .com domain. I want the blog to be at the domain, not just linking through to blogspot, but I can't seem to do it. I followed this guide which sounds like exactly what I want but then I found out that blogspot are not supporting FTP anymore due to security risks, so that doesn't work now. I followed this guide and did something with CNAME settings but it doesn't seem to work, there is something at the bottom about DNS settings taking a day to come in to effect, is that true? It might be better to have a blog that isn't anything to do with blogspot but as it is I'm happy with that one and I need it so d…

Can you hear the highway? I work in Texas for an Oil and Gas consulting firm. It gives me a first hand look at how it works, plus lots of time and motive to ruminate on energy prospecting and consumption as a concept. Global society's titan momentum means that the global entity must seek energy above all else. You've seen the movie about what happens when we don't find enough. Discussion here can range from scandal to discovery, philosophy to hypothesis. Also interesting is escape strategy from globalism and self reliance. How will new energy change the future, and what obstacles are in the way? You can even ask me about fracking, since I know all the chem…

Anyone else seen this, kind of a parody on all the Microsoft simulator games, but holy fuck does it look hilarious... Apparently it stared as just a joke, but now the developers are making it into a real game check it! and watch the trailer/pre-order at the website... the trailer looks even more ridiculously awesome http://www.goat-simulator.com

Just joined, seems like a nice place here. No subforum for new members, no welcome PM, seems like just the kind of elitist forum I was looking for! Nah, I'm kidding. I'm Italian, I like drukqs (the album), I make music on computer and piano, I used to play the sax, and I like football. Cheers!

It is that time of year again! The deal is:- PM me your address if you want to get involved, please include your FULL address including country, post code / zip whatever, AND your name. Not sure if name is definitely required but it might help the gift get to you promptly. On Saturday 30th November I will randomise all names in the list and with the powers of pure chaos, distribute an address out to each person. Try and get your gift out in good time to the lucky watmm'er, please keep in mind international postal times and the festive period. Some people got theirs for Xmas day last year which was cool, some were late but that can't always be helped. Receive an…

Ever since I have immersed myself in the world of Skyrim, I find myself going to open air farmer's markets to buy things like whole fish, sides of beef, sacks of potatoes and other raw ingredients so that I can make stews that require at least an entire day and overnight to cook. this weekend, I built a fire in my back yard and roasted some small game hens and served them on pieces of wood and asked my guests to please refrain from using silverware. we drank brandywine (closest thing I can stomach to mead) and ale. On Christmas day I went to a friends house who has a sauna. We sauna'ed in the nude and then jumped into his freezing pool and spoke to each other in thick, ex…

Best carts/needles for in-home DJ setup?

So I've got 2 1200's and a nice mixer, and have been using Orotofon Concorde Pros (black) on both for .. 2 years? I'm at the point where both styli are totally worn and need immediate replacement, so I'm wondering.. are there better carts that I could be using, in terms of quality and under $100 each (or $200 total)? The setup is used for recreational listening and occasionally I do record mixes, so I want it to sound (quite) good. Any recommendations?

So I bought a used car, and the bf knows more about it than I do, like hidden trunk compartments and trunk mesh net, and he found a series of CDs which led me to believe a woman was driving the car before. Series is: 1. Lovesexy - Prince 2. The Hits/B-sides - Prince 3. Greatest Hits - Eurythmics 4. Great Love Songs of the 70s and 80s 5. Nothing Like the Sun - Sting 6. The Original Movie Soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever 7. Faith - George Michael This set, coupled with the paint around the volume dial chipped away, has me convinced it was a woman. edit: left out 1990s Dance...

Before the PSH news broke I was digging a bit into the sordid history of the Woody Allen child abuse accusation. The more you read the more interesting it gets, I think. I have my own theory, but I'm wondering if anyone else has been digging into this? I think it's fascinating.

Dear (UK) WATMMers, So a couple of friends and me are spending a few days in Edinburgh soon, the weekend of Feb 21-23. We're staying near the Grassmarket and I'm not really kidding myself that we will end up doing anything else than bar crawling at night. But on the off chance, I'm wondering whether there's anything more interesting to do there in terms of nightlife, either good clubs or just fun non-electronic-music-related places to go out to? As for the daytime, any must-sees and and must-dos, any good record stores? Thanks in advance!

I wondered yesterday why the nbc news website was down, apparently they were in the middle of transitioning to a new site layout. Now i know that nbc is not the most with it place to go and get your info, but it's been a staple on my web go around list for so many years now, from back when Keith olbermann was still allowed to make tv. So every few days or so i migrate over there for a quick scan of the US headlines. Well try making a quick scan of anything, using this website now >>http://www.nbcnews.com/ Nooo!! They have finally fallen prey to giant picture tiles (the home tab) and endlessly created full articles as you scroll down (the latest tab). Where…

So I went to my Aunt's funeral the other day and it opened my eyes quite a bit. I had always thought of my aunt as a kind of crazy person who I wanted to keep my distance from. She was always nice and ALWAYS quick to hug, but it was what seemed to me an over niceness and, again, a little crazy. My whole immediate family felt this way and also a good bit of my extended family. So I'm at her funeral and first of all they are playing Beatles songs which is already such a huge change from the typical hymnal, stuffy religious songs I usually hear at funerals (I have been to alot of funerals). The atmosphere is already loose instead of obligatorily somber. Then …

in the 60s, two women killed themselves at this hotel. in the early 80s, richard ramierz called this place home. a decade later, an austrian serial killer decided to stay there. then he killed a bunch of women. 2 years ago, a canadian chick was talking to a demon in the hallways. she was later found dead in the septic tank at the hotel. guests had been drinking her all week long. "the water tastes horrible" they said. tomorrow am going to the cecil hotel because i have nothing better to do, but you never know. in for a penny, in for a pound http://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/before-the-ghost-photo-the-disturbing-gruesome-past-of-the-cecil-hotel/story…
