At one point in "Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy? An Animated Conversation With Noam Chomsky," Michel Gondry's free-roaming animated portrait of his discussions with the famed MIT linguist, the filmmaker makes it clear that the chief audience he hopes to please is his subject. Gondry, who narrates the documentary throughout, explains his desire during production to complete the project before the octogenarian Chomsky dies. The revolutionary thinker, who turns 85 this December, showed no signs of a premature departure, but Gondry's admission suggests the deadline mainly reflects his own mortal fears. It's a tender observation that taps into the self-defined urgency behind his…

New Harmony Korine movie Spring Breakers with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and James Franco. What the fuck? This is fucking hilarious. I am so happy right now. For those of you who don't know Harmony Korine, he's an indie director who made Trash Humpers and other strange movies (slightly nsfw; contains old people dry humping trash): Selena Gomez on Spring Breakers:

No opinions from watmm massif on this topic? http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2013/07/13/zimmerman-jury.html I don't know nearly enough about the case, but given Zimmerman's pas run-ins with the law, and if I recall correctly that the police asked him not to follow Martin..I have a bit of a tough time with the not guilty verdict...

Checked this out on iZotope's facebook page and I thought this article was very insightful. He's able to make the division between being an amateur and professional musician (or any artful craft really) pretty clear with a good definition on what each label means. http://www.trustmeimascientist.com/2013/11/04/op-ed-how-to-tell-if-youre-an-amateur-musician/

now this is a sequel. not rehashing the first game with new levels, but an entirely new concept and time frame. Ken Levine and team are back at the controls this time, and looks to be one good looking game. c'mon 2012! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV_TDxl2UIo

do you have any? post them here. maybe someone can help. like this: marlon brando. does anyone get why this guy was/is popular? i though his performance in the godfather was lazy, was generic in superman and pretty much forgettable in the score. i also dislike apocalypse now as i find it an overindulgent mess. anyone know why this guy continues to be considered such a great thespian?

used to use a brita filter before i moved... tasted pretty good... Now I'm on a Nestle "Pure Life" run atm.. not that it's delish or anything, just that for some reason it tastes less bitter/minerally than arrowhead (which i used to tolerate)... of course, fiji is lush for bottled waters, but there's a strange sweet slickness to it that makes it distinct... im gonna have to try voss again, it's been a while all time losers are dasani and aquafina (although there's something im embarrassingly starting to like about Coca-Cola's Dasani after a workout)... maybe it's the sodium chloride they add "for taste"...? Official Bottled Water & Drinking Wat…

At any given time I've got a sort of mental roster of people whose attitude and work I'm interested in and who I really admire, and who've shaped my own personal/political/creative opinions to some degree. I'm kind of interested in who y'all admire and feel you've been influenced by. My own list seems to mainly seems to be writers (I've deliberately left out people I admire musically). At the moment, people I admire: Bertrand Russell (see in particular 'A Liberal Decalogue') Hunter S. Thompson Bill Hicks and the Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle (some of his written stuff makes incredibly spot-on points about how vacuous and fucked-up our culture can be) China Mi…

So I'm team iPhone now, and I'm realizing this may have been a slight mistake; do all pr0n vids come up as "(untitled)" in browser history? This somewhat sucks, as I have no point of reference for which untitled page was any good among many untitled pages . Are there any tips from veteran Safari users as to how I can efficiently use my history? Much time is wasted sifting through it. Swift answers welcome!

Zizek is simultaneously the nicest and sweatiest person I've ever met. I wish he would take me under his tutelage so we could watch movies and tell each other vulgar jokes all day. Has anyone seen The Pervert's Guide to Ideology yet? I'd like to know what people thought about the movie.

I'm looking for a macro that will look up a youtube playlist, take the names of all the videos and pop them in an excel spreadsheet. I'd probably look for a column separator like "-" but that'd be easy enough. Does such a thing already exist? I'm nifty enough with VBA so I'm not adverse to giving it a go myself, but I'm wondering if anyone has come across something already? Google results are useless, because all you come up with is youtube videos about excel spreadsheets.
