Greetings watmm. Today is the day that my buddy’s crowd-sourced climate change campaign kicks off. The campaign is called THE OPEN LETTER. This here is the thread where I politely tell you, hey, I think this is a pretty cool campaign. You should check it out. They have, in my opinion, a very interesting approach. If you too are of the opinion that something needs to be done about CC, then you can read more about the campaign here: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-open-letter & http://www.openletter2013.org The idea is that we hope this turns into a massive, “viral” thing that blows through its goal and makes a lot of people sit up and take…

http://www.hrw.org/news/2013/08/24/israel-stop-unlawful-west-bank-home-demolitions Note the careful use of the word 'war crime' because there isn't any military motivation behind these destructions of homes leading families, including children, to become refugees in their own land...

hey i've got bitten in the upper calf by some bug, probably an especially nasty horsefly or something, a few days ago.. it's quite a big red spot where the sting/bite is, which is a bit itchy and somewhat hard to the touch.. which i could live with. but now my right foot is swollen like a motherfucker, noticed this yesterday afternoon. it's slightly less swollen now, but i'm just out of bed. gravity will likely increase the swelling again. i've never had anything like this before. i'm not oversensitive to insect bites, usually. wat do?

so in a yet another idiotic decision delet.. decided to use his powers and closed the thread while baselessly assuming that everyone already knows everything he/she needs to know about the current israeli situation, my position towards it and my inability to provide valuable insight thus blocking a perfectly legitimate discussion. perhaps he'll come to his senses and reopen it but for a while this one will act as a continuation of johnoise's thread in case there are any more questions/arguments/replies whatevs.

Video Game High School / FreddieW
by Guest chunky- 0 replies

This chap Freddie from California has a youtube channel where he shoes short films made by him and his friends. Milkman, the world's worst super hero. Chrono Trigger, where a guy can stop time before gearing up to beat the bad guys. CGI Super Mario 3 FPS (wish they could make that as a real game). They're pretty funny videos, with short action sequences and what have you. Freddie and his pals started a kickstarter and used the money to make a short TV series called Video Game High School. It's completely dumb and corny but entertaining. The plot of the first series is similar to the Karate Kid but with FPS matches instead. The second series is a bit messy but there's an o…

state one fact about yourself that other members may not know of I'll start: I have very little friends, but the friends I do have are great ones. most of my time outside work is spent alone, though I am perfectly fine with that. I prefer being alone

A Canadian dentist is hoping to clone John Lennon using DNA from one of the singer's rotten teeth. Michael Zuk, who bought Lennon's molar at a 2011 auction, has begun sequencing the former Beatle's DNA – the first step in a process set out by scientists who propose to clone a woolly mammoth. "Many Beatles fans remember where they were when they heard John Lennon was shot. I hope they also live to hear the day he was given another chance," Zuk said. The tooth has already been couriered to an unnamed US lab where scientists are "considering ways to extract [its] genetic code". "I am nervous and excited at the possibility that we will be able to fully sequence John Lenno…

Riddick 1 2
by MadameChaos- 38 replies

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty. The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Hey. I'm going to Helsinki Finland for work in a month. It's likely I'll be too busy to really see anything or explore. I'll only be there for a few days and I'll be very busy. Anyway, having said that, if any of you have travel tips, recommendations of food to eat, places/things to try and see in Helsinki, bars, restaurants, souvenirs, t-shirts or unique things to buy, I'd appreciate a pointer or two. Many thanks ;) I'll also be in London for a couple days. Not sure exactly where yet. I was there once before. It's doubtful I'll have time to do anything there other than work and suss out some proper fish and chips / Indian food. I'd take recommendations on that, …

i've seen fleeting postings here on the watmm; sharing the opinions of random people, as well as established artists and more prominent figures in the music community regarding the watmm. i'm curious, what have u heard? what do your friends think? do u talk about watmm with friends or is it a secret activity only for u. i'm also curious to start up a discussion about what the eventual greater vision is for watmm. i'm always hoping for this forum to take flight; not that i don't enjoy it the way it is, but i do feel it has incredible potential if given just a slightly more powerful push. anyway...

What gets you pumped up to make some music? Do you have any pre-production rituals? Do you go for a jog? Meditate? Drink coffee or energy drinks? Smoke weed? Trip on LSD or Mushrooms? Think about the future or past? How do you stay focused and not get distracted? How do you keep up your workflow? I'm asking all of this because a lot of times I get drained after only 30 minutes of working. I come up with a what I think is a good idea and then don't want to screw it up or just end up jamming with it and getting stuck on moving forward. Am I just lazy? What inspires and motivates you?
