Only them? (WATMMF Featured Artists)
by Guest Hexagon Hobbes- 17 replies

I know the featured artist in that sub-forum are the pinnacle of many sides and faces of Electronic music but it seems the artists included offer a type of individually unique sound around the times those sounds were most common. But don't get me wrong, each one of those artists exude very specific, original sounds and elecric language. And that sound, many newcoming artists today don't always connect to or use. But the new-to-the-scene artists are just as definitive in Electronic music as the others and offer a whole new type of electronic sound that the ones included don't (normally) deal with. People like like J Dilla, Mr. Oizo, Shigeto, Bachelors of Science, Flying …

Need help finding this image!
by Guest Alfred E. Neuman- 8 replies

Somewhere at sometime an image was floating around here: It's black and white, and is some still from a film. It shows a duncey looking man, with a really unique face--Pagliacci clownish type--holding a pistol to his head. It looks like maybe he's in a gas station(??). I have no idea what film is, but I need this image/need to know what film it's from. Please help!

"Women can be turned on by such a variety of sexual scenes, Bergner argues, how truly libidinous they are. This apparently puts the lie to our socially manufactured assumption that women are inherently more sexually restrained than men." "No matter what their self-proclaimed sexual orientation, [women] showed, on the whole, strong and swift genital arousal when the screen offered men with men, women with women and women with men. They responded objectively much more to the exercising woman than to the strolling man, and their blood flow rose quickly--and markedly, though to a lesser degree than during all the human scenes except the footage of the ambling, strapping …

so back around interweb 1.2 or so (~2000) i was in college and was into science, and while doing some research i came across this website called TheSpark.com which became my favorite science and related things website. maybe someone else here will remember it. i've never met anyone else who saw it irl or online (i don't think), but it was awesome. i've found some of the projects that they had on the site, archived. i present to watmm, for watmms science learning pleasure: stinkymeat - this one is now archived at it's own site. TheSpark had several contributors, with the main one being the guy who ran it, but i think this was their first project and someone besides the…

For the past few weeks I have noticed that when I click that icon to view the latest post in a thread I've already visited, it jumps me to a point in the thread before the last post I read. A few posts up, perhaps, instead of the first new one. It used to work perfectly. I'm using Firefox 21.0 on OS X 10.7.5

Highbrow/Lowbrow Art 1 2
by Guest Wall Bird- 30 replies
- 4.1k views
During my bike ride this morning I got to thinking about how some of my favorite artists are those who embrace both the highbrow and lowbrow aspects of their art and utilize them equally. Classical composers, for instance, tend to exhibit a kind of high-seriousness to their work and image that makes it hard to imagine them branching off into punk-rock or other idioms that some would consider too simple or immature to merit inclusion, whereas Frank Zappa was not beyond approaching subjects like S&M, talking mountains, or being a dental floss tycoon in the midst of some incredibly sophisticated compositions that rival said composers. So I wonder, who are some artists …

anyone else interested in this? looks pretty fun imo. and the alpha just went public. anyway, it's like a slightly better looking minecraft but with more focus on rpg elements and bosses and loot and exploring rather than building things. sort of reminds me of zelda: the wind waker mixed with minecraft. [youtubehd]LKnWTcp-N8M[/youtubehd] screens and stuff: https://picroma.com/media/screenshots procedurally generated world with randomly generated names for areas and villages and stuff. seems like the registration site is down due to overload atm though (you need to register to purchase the game).

This is a long shot, but I am trying to find this game that I was reading about/watching youtube vids of a a couple of years ago. It was a top down strategy game (i think), that seemed squad based. You controlled what looked to be a swat team of sorts, and the graphics were really sleek. A lot of neon colors, stripped down and minimal in feel. I want to say the levels were similar to that of an office, a lot of twists and turns. Some of them almost looked like cubicles. Does anyone have ANY idea what I am talking about? I believe it came out in 2011, maybe 2012.
